Adams Rite MS1861-02-603-IB MS Deadlock
The MS1861 Series MS Bottom Rail Deadbolt provides maximum security with MS deadbolt locking mechanism. It utilizes hardened steel bolts for the limited space of ultra-narrow stile doors.
Function
The MS1861 lies horizontally in the bottom rail of ultra-narrow stile doors which have insufficient vertical space for a lock, or tempered glass doors which have no stile at all. The hardened steel cylindrical bolts allow simple drilled strike holes of a relatively small size to minimize the nuisance and danger presented by some threshold strikes in collecting debris or snagging on high-heeled shoes. MS1861-02 locks either single-leaf or pairs of doors. Not recommended for wood doors.
Opetation
360° turn of key or thumbturn throws or retracts bolt(s). Key can be removed only when bolts are in a positively locked or unlocked position. Lock accepts any standard 1-5/32” diameter mortise cylinder from either or both sides. Cylinder must have MS® dimensioned cam.
Adams Rite has four types of dead bolts to meet the needs of any situation. They have a short throw dead blot that has the longest practical throw from a narrow stile. This dead bolt operates with a half turn of the key.
The heavy duty dead blot is for sliding wood or metal doors. The deadbolt throws a massive brass bolt into the strike and then expands a stainless steel dog upward and downward to secure the door. A full turn of the key is necessary to operate the bolt. This bolt requires a special cylinder cam.
Adams Rite also offers an interconnected dead bolt / dead latch for either aluminum stile or hollow wood or metal doors. This combination provides access control from the outside and fast, easy and panic-proof exiting.
It does this by interconnecting the dead bolt and the dead latch when the lock is operated from the inside only when configured with the interconnect feature. The outside lever retracts the latch only.
