5 knuckle half surface hinges from McKinney fit a mortise in the door jamb and sit flat on the surface of the door. They bolt through the door, so be sure to advise if the thickness of the door exceeds 1 3/4". .
McKinney offers the half surface hinge in 4 1/2" and 5” lengths in a standard weight. This is an appropriate choice for medium frequency and medium weight doors. The hinge is reversible.
The heavy weight 5 knuckle half surface hinge offer the same sizes as the standard weight but adds a 6” length as an additional option. It is suitable for applications that see more traffic or have a heavier door. The hinge is reversible.
The swing clear half surface hinge style allows the maximum clearance available when the door is open. It is recommended for high traffic doorways and heavy wood or metal doors. Like the other half surface hinge styles it is reversible.
McKinney also offers a back plate that supports the surface mount of the door leaf of the half surface hinges. These provide additional support for heavier doors.

The hinges may be used on channel iron jambs
The narrow leaf is applied to the surface of the jamb with machine screws. The door leaf is applied to the surface of the door with thru bolts and grommet nuts
Standard weight full surface hinges are packed with all machine screws and thru bolts and grommet nuts
The pin is held in place by an NRP set screw, which allows the hinge to be reversible
Specify if the door thickness is greater than 1-3/4" to insure that proper bolt is packed
