Since 1819, Tremont Nails has been crafting traditional, square-cut iron nails for your building needs. Tremont Nails facility has survived war and disaster, having been rebuilt multiple times with final construction ending in 1848, the century-old structure is still in use today. From that day, Tremont Nails has continued to grow, becoming the oldest nail manufacturer in the United States.
Tremont Nails’ reputation is based on providing a product that is not only period correct, but superior to conventional wire nails. Square-cut nails have a tapering edge that, when forced into the wood, create a feathered edge, resulting in less chance of the nail backing out of the wood, even under enormous force. The square cut design also allows the nail to be inserted closer to the edge, with less risk of splitting the wood!
Tremont offers a variety of nails and brads to suit your needs. Decorative, yet durable, wrought head nails are commonplace when installing floors, batten doors and rough-sawn siding and brads are commonly used for furniture repair and cabinetmaking. Tremont Nails has the quality, period correct, square-cut nails and accessories your project needs.
With over 190 years of continuous experience, Tremont Nails uses the same machines as 125 years ago to provide a quality product for modern or restoration use. Tremont is proud to offer traditional, square-cut nails with American workmanship and quality.
