Acorn CK16 Cut Spikes-3-1/2" 16d-Standard-1 Pound are essential for heavy construction projects, delivering unmatched durability and strength. Designed specifically for driving through planking and heavy timber, these cut spikes are ideal for deck and bridge work, ensuring a secure hold in demanding applications. Crafted on one of Acorn's oldest nail machines, dating back to 1865, each spike is made by heating steel plates to a reddish hue and feeding them by hand into the machine. This traditional method allows for a unique character, with variations in head shape and slight differences in nail length, adding to their handcrafted appeal. The spikes are produced at a rate of 40 per minute, ensuring efficiency without compromising quality. Available in either a standard hardened finish or hot-dip galvanized for enhanced corrosion resistance, these cut spikes offer a reliable solution for all your construction needs. The design of cut nails contributes to their exceptional holding power, as the unique shape drives the wood fibers downward, making them challenging to pull out once installed. With approximately 18 nails per pound, Acorn CK16 Cut Spikes are your go-to choice for robust, dependable fastening in any project.
