Company Checks

A maximum of 10 (ten) banking days should be allowed starting from the date when you receive confirmation from Builders Area acknowledging the receipt of your company check before your order can be processed. This is in order for the funds in the company check that you issued to clear properly. Builders Area cannot guarantee the availability of the product that you have purchased by the time the funds have cleared or by the time payment has been received. Returned checks will be charged a $25 fee.

 Builders Area offers FREE SHIPPING for orders worth $500 dollars and above. This offer excludes free shipping to non-contiguous states of Alaska and Hawaii, and all offshore U.S. territories and possessions, which include American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico, and the United States Virgin Islands or foreign contracts, and for orders of goods that require special freight handling and treatment. Products that require special freight handling and treatment refers to goods that have atypical volume, weight, and are more than 70-inches in length, or are extremely fragile or sensitive like glass products.

Free shipping only applies to purchases of products from a particular brand or manufacturer and not for a combination of two or more brands or manufacturers or if shipment has to be split on customer request. This is because we require to ship orders from different manufacturers from two or more locations and therefore it attracts separate shipping charges. If you are unsure, whether an order qualifies for Free Shipping or not, please contact us directly prior to placing your order.

Orders that are not covered by our company’s Free Shipping policy will be subject to standard delivery rates as indicated on the price list.

Multiple Product Orders

For orders placed for several products, Builders Area does its best to deliver all of the products making up the entire purchase order at the same time. However, if a particular product becomes unavailable at shipping time, it will be shipped as soon as it becomes available unless you choose to cancel the order and inform us earlier. You will then be charged only for the products that are available for shipping. The entire shipping charge may be applied to the first product or products that are shipped on a multiple shipment order.


Order Acceptance Policy

Your receipt of an order confirmation from us, whether electronic or through any other form, does not automatically indicate our acceptance of your order, neither does it confirm our offer to sell. Builders Area reserves the right after the receipt of your order, to accept or decline your order for any reason or to supply less than the quantity you ordered for any item.


Other Conditions

These Terms and Conditions supersede any terms and/or conditions you include with any purchase order, regardless whether Builders Area signs them or not. Builders Area reserves the right to make changes to this site, including these Policies, Terms and Conditions at any time.


Out-of-Stock Products

Builders Area usually ships your products within 24 hours after you place the order. However, there may be instances when the product that you have ordered is out-of-stock, which will cause delays in the completion of your order. Builders Area will keep you informed on the availability of the products that you have ordered, if they are out-of-stock or are unavailable to ship immediately at the time you made the purchase.

The other websites that can be accessed via Builders Area website have their own privacy policies and data collection practices. If the item/s that you ordered are defective or arrive damaged, you must notify us within three (3) business days after you have received it. We shall send you a replacement at our own expense once we have received and have inspected the defective or damaged item/s. Before returning the defective or damaged item/s to us, you must inform us about it either by email or by calling our toll-free number 888-409-5397 in order for you to acquire a Return Goods Authorization Number or RGA Number from us.

Restocking Fees

Restocking fee is applied in percentage of item's price depending upon type of the item and condition in which it is returned. You may choose replacement of an item or refund upon return of the item. However, restocking fee is charged for tending the return material, repacking, and retain sellable condition.

When returning items we require you use the same carrier used when the order was delivered. Using a different carrier can result in the return being refused.

We do not accept returns beyond the permissible return window of 30 days of receiving the items. We may apply restocking fee as per the guidelines explained below.

The buyer wants to return an item within the acceptable return window due to change of mind about the purchase

Yes, between 25% - 45% fee depending upon the brand and item condition. A minimum of 25% or $25.00 (whichever is greater) will be imposed as a re-stocking fee.

The buyer wants to return items received yet in unopened condition

Yes, 10% restocking fee, customer has to send the item back at own expense, no refund on shipping paid in the order, customer has to take decision of sending unopened item within 14 days.

The buyer refuses to accept the delivery due to visible transit damage or tampering

No restocking fee, items will be replaced free of cost upon reporting such incidence along with photograph of the parcel

The buyer receives defective / damaged item

No, such parts will be replaced free of cost upon verification of the items

The buyer returns user-damaged material or used material

Returns of used and user-damaged materials are not accepted

The buyer receives different items than ordered

No restocking fee restocking fee, items will be replaced free of cost upon reporting such incidence upon verification of the item

Custom Orders / Non stock items

Custom orders are non-returnable as well as non stock items ordered per customer’s request, sometimes we’re able to make an exception but restocking at that case is usually 75-80% (as for Assa Abloy brands)

Refunds and Credits

We offer refunds as well as replacements depending upon your choice. We do not refund shipping expenses. Restocking fee applies on some returns. Please contact Returns Department by sending an email to [email protected] for Return Merchandise Authorization number, Ship Back Address, and Restocking Fee if any.

Please do not return any item without Return Authorization 
as such claims are not honored and accepted.

How to

The return process is simple. All you need to do is send us an email at [email protected] informing us of the reason for returning the item/s together with their original order number. Include your name, daytime telephone number, and email address. You will receive an email from us authorizing the return and with the RGA number for the item/s. All products must be unopened, packed in the original, unmarked packaging including any accessories, manuals, documentation and registration that were shipped with the product. Pack the item/s carefully using write the RGA Number clearly on the package, and then send the item/s back to us via the address indicated in the email that you received from us.


Customer satisfaction is one of our foremost goals, which is why we only offer high quality products that have a high level of performance. If the products are not up to your standards, are defective, or arrive damaged, we will gladly replace them or reimburse you for the cost of the product minus the shipping fees.



Shipping Policy

Most orders will ship within 24 hours after the order has been placed, provided that the item/s are in stock. Orders that are placed on Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays, will be processed on Monday or the following business day.


Once the item/s that you ordered leave their respective manufacturing facilities, the shipping time will depend largely on the freight company and we will have very little control over it. Builders Area therefore, cannot guarantee when an order will be delivered to you. Please regard the shipping packages and transit times offered to you by Builders Area or by other parties only as an estimate. It will be a good idea to time your orders properly by considering the date when you place the order or any upcoming holidays to avoid delays. Product availability will also depend on the season when the particular item/s are in high demand.

Shipping rates for standard shipping or expedite shipping request for orders that are to be delivered to addresses outside the continental United States, to unincorporated territories of the US, or for item/s that include lockers, glass products, item/s more than 70 inches in length, or are very heavy, shall be calculated upon the receipt of such orders.

As mentioned earlier in the Free Shipping Policy, orders that have several items from two or more brands or manufacturers will be shipped from different facilities according to the locations of the respective manufacturers of the products. The shipping cost for such orders therefore, will have different charges and will have to be added up to the total cost of the item/s.



Applicable sales tax for orders to be delivered to addresses within the same state shall automatically be added to the total cost of order. You will be responsible for all the sales tax and other taxes for orders that are to be shipped to other states.


Typographical Errors

In case that the price of a particular product is listed incorrectly due to erroneous pricing information that we have received from our suppliers or due to typographical error, Builders Area reserves the right to cancel or refuse orders placed for any products that are listed with an incorrect price. This right shall also be reserved regardless whether an order has been confirmed or otherwise, and if your credit card has already been charged. In the event that your credit card has already been charged and your order was canceled due to the incorrect pricing, Builders Area shall immediately issue a credit to your credit card account for the amount it was charged against the order.
