Adams Rite 4591-01-00-US3 Paddle Operator 4500/4900 offers a sleek and modern solution for accessing secure areas with ease. Designed specifically for 1-3/4" thick doors, this curved deadlatch paddle operator allows for intuitive operation-simply push or pull in the direction the door swings, making it feel as natural as opening an unlatched door. Constructed from durable extruded aluminum with a stunning bright brass finish, the paddle is an ergonomic alternative to traditional knob or lever handles. This model is compatible with Adams Rite 4500, 4900, MS+1890, and 2190 series locks, and includes a cam plug for easy installation with the 4500 and 4900 series latches. The robust escutcheon, made from zinc alloy and finished in black Ritecoat, houses a steel mechanism secured with special binder posts to enhance durability. Versatile in design, the paddle is available in multiple configurations and can easily be handed in the field. Additionally, it features a dogging device, allowing the paddle to be locked in an unlocked position. For added functionality, options for a monitor switch are available, enabling connections to low voltage circuits. Each unit is individually boxed with mounting hardware, ensuring a straightforward installation process.

Paddle Operator 4500/4900

Curved Deadlatch Paddle, for 1-3/4" Thick Doors, Bright Brass Finish, Pull to Left, Exterior Left-Hand Reverse or Interior Right-Handed

A contemporary designed alternative to knob or lever handles. Adams Rite paddle operator makes opening a latched door as natural as opening an unlatched door. Just push or pull in the direction the door swings. Available for any Adams Rite 4500, 4900, MS+1890 and 2190 series locks. Cam plug is furnished for use with 4500 and 4900 series latches. Cam plug is not required with the MS+1890 and the 2190 locks. Plug is secured in latch body by cylinder set screwand tied to escutcheon with two hardened steel pins. Escutcheon is constructed from zinc alloy and finished with black Ritecoat finish. Escutcheon houses a steel mechanism and is secured to the door stile with special binder posts for a solid installation. Available in four configurations, push, pull, left and right , but can easily be handed in the field as needed. Individually boxed with mounting hardware. Standard unit fits 1-3/4 In. thick doors. Available for thicker doors. Available with a monitor switch that can be used to drop low voltage power to an electric lock or act as a request to exit signal. Standard 4591 paddle includes a dogging device to lock the paddle in an unlocked position with the supplied hex key.

The 4591 Deadlatch Paddle is an ergonomically-friendly alternative to a knob or lever handle.

• Paddle: Extruded aluminum, 628 Clear Anodized finish (US28). 313 Dark Bronze Anodized and 335 Black Anodized are also available. US3 Bright Brass, US26 Bright Chrome, or US26D Satin Chrome plating is also available.
• Escutcheon: Zinc allow with black finish. Houses steel operating mechanism. Secured to door stile with special binder posts that extend into the escutcheon to rigidly resist torque loads in any direction.
• Cam Plug: Furnished for use with 4300, 4500 and 4900 Series Deadlatches. Cam plug not for use with MS+1890 Deadlock/Latch or 2190/2290 Interconnected Deadbolt/Deadlatch. Secured in latch body by cylinder setscrew, plug is also rigidly tied to escutcheon by hardened steel pins.
• Monitor Switch Options:
• 4591M: Paddle without latch drive mechanism but with switch that can be wired to make or break a low voltage circuit.
• 4591MA: Paddle with latch drive mechanism, complete active paddle with switch.
• 91-0914 Monitor Switch Kit: Adds monitor switch function to any 4591 Paddle ("push" version only).
• Paddle Dogging (“Push” versions only): Turning hex key in escutcheon holds the paddle down, leaving door free-swinging. Dogging key provided.
• Options: First dash number specifies operation (handing) and compatible latch. Second dash number can be used to specify non-standard units for doors thicker than 1-3/4” (see dash table on catalog page). Also available: 4591M Paddle/switch to actuate magnetic lock, alarm, etc. (No latch retracting mechanism.) 4591MA Active Paddle with switch and latch retracting mechanism. 4781 Two-Point Deadlatch uses a modified, but matching version of the 4591 Paddle.
• Standard Package: Individually boxed with dogging hex key and mounting hardware. Units for 4300, 4500 or 4900 Series Deadlatches include cam plug. Shipping weight: 1-1/2 lbs.
