C.R. Laurence AG38 3/8" Amazing Glazing Plated Diamond Drill offers a unique and aggressive sawtooth profile designed to enhance drilling efficiency. This drill is engineered for durability, being C.R. Laurence's most robust plated option, ensuring it withstands rigorous use. Available in diameters ranging from 1/8" to 4-1/2" (3.2 to 114.3 mm), the AG38 is versatile enough for various glazing applications. The innovative sawtooth design minimizes the contact area, enabling superior grinding action and improved coolant penetration. This drill is compatible with portable tripod and cup-style machines, making it ideal for both professionals and dedicated DIY enthusiasts. For optimal performance, it is recommended to use the DTC80 Diamond Tool Coolant and submerge the drill in a retaining ring. Safety is paramount; always wear appropriate safety gear, including eye protection, and work on a stable, flat surface. The use of a stabilization base, such as GDB1 or GDB2 Glass Drilling Bases, is critical when using a hand drill to prevent damage and ensure operator safety. Additionally, the drill can be sharpened once using a CRL Sharpening Stone, extending its lifespan significantly.

The special sawtooth design of CRL Amazing Glazing Plated Diamond Drills reduces the contact area, allowing better grinding action and increased coolant penetration. They are perfect for use in portable tripod and cup style machines. Our most durable drill has been machined from solid steel. Use with DTC80 Diamond Tool Coolant and submerge in a retaining ring for best results. Although plated, these drills may be sharpened one time with a CRL Sharpening Stone after they are totally worn out to expose some of the remaining diamonds. This will extend their work life for a period of time.

NOTE: Always wear the proper safety gear, including eye protection, when drilling glass. Work should be performed on a flat, horizontal surface. A Cat. No. GF1 Ground Fault Circuit Interrupt Device is recommended when using any type of electric tool in conjunction with water or coolant. Failure to follow any of these precautions can result in operator injury.

NEVER perform any type of freehand drilling. The use of a hand drill requieres a stabilization base such as a our GDB1 & GDB2 Glass Drilling Bases. Extreme care and caution should be used as the use of these drill in any other manner other than as specified may damage the bit and void warranty.
