Falcon Lock MEL-25R-L-NL-QUA-US26D-48-LHR KIT features motorized electric latch retraction (MEL), offering a modern and energy-efficient solution for controlling exit devices in multifamily and commercial settings. Designed for seamless integration on Falcon's 24 and 25 Series exit devices, this model provides a reliable mechanical egress while enabling electronic control for enhanced security. The MEL system allows for momentary unlatching through credential readers, or it can be configured to retract latches for extended access, making it a convenient alternative to traditional mechanical dogging. Its modular design simplifies installation, allowing upgrades to existing mechanical devices without hassle. Constructed to meet Grade 1 standards, this exit device operates on a 24VDC power supply with a low inrush current of just 1 amp, ensuring compatibility with standard Schlage power supplies. The device is also vandal-resistant, incorporating diagnostics for easy troubleshooting and a self-calibrating motor assembly for consistent performance. Available in a sleek satin chrome finish (626/US26D), the MEL-25R is ideal for enhancing both security and aesthetic appeal. It requires a 1-1/4 mortise cylinder and is designed for left-hand reverse/reversible installations, providing flexibility for various door configurations.
KIT - Motorized Electric Latch Retraction, Rim Exit Device, Escutcheon x Quantum Lever Nightlatch Trim 510L-NL, (Requires 1-1/4 Mortise Cylinder), 48in, LHR Left Hand Reverse/Reversible, 24VDC 1 Amp, Grade 1, 626/US26D Satin Chrome
Motorized electric latch retraction (MEL) provides energy efficient electronic control of an exit device for an affordable around the door solution. The MEL option is Falcon’s solution of choice for multifamily and commercial real estate facilities where cost competitive electromechanical latch retraction is desired. It is available on most Falcon 24 and 25 Series exit devices (not available for mortise 25-M or F-25-M). These devices always provide mechanical egress. Motorized electric latch retraction can be used with credential readers to unlatch doors momentarily for authorized users, or it can be incorporated with systems to retract latches for extended periods of time to allow free entry. This is a convenient alternative to mechanical dogging. Doors with automatic operators also may use exit devices with electric latch retraction.
