Sargent 281-O TB EN Powerglide Cast Iron Closer offers exceptional performance for both interior and exterior doors, designed with the demands of architects and building owners in mind. This surface door closer features a standard arm and thru bolts, finished in a sprayed aluminum enamel for durability and aesthetic appeal. Engineered to ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 standards, the 281 Series ensures reliability and safety, conforming to UL10C and UBC for positive pressure fire testing and is UL and CUL listed for use on fire doors. With a versatile mounting design, it accommodates standard, top jamb, parallel, and track installations. The adjustable spring power allows for a size range of 1 through 6, set to size 3 at the factory. Additional benefits include standard pressure relief valves that protect the closer seals from excessive force, and high impact non-corrosive plastic covers, with an optional metal cover available. This model meets ADA requirements across all applications (except track) and is equipped with all-weather fluid to ensure reliable operation in extreme conditions.
