CRL 7242YA3 Black 1/16" x 3/8" Tremco POLYshim II Butyl Architectural Tape is a versatile solution designed for high-performance glazing applications. Composed of 100% solids, this highly adhesive and elastic, cross-linked butyl tape is ideal for use in compression glazing systems, including curtain walls, unitized systems, punched windows, and sloped glazing. The continuous integral EPDM shim effectively prevents sealant squeeze-out while accommodating the natural expansion and contraction of building materials and glass. This resilience helps minimize pressure points, thereby reducing the risk of glass breakage. With good adhesion, heat resistance, and compatibility with various sealants, POLYshim II Tape is a reliable choice for demanding environments. Its physical properties include a hardness of 57 durometer Shore "00" and a temperature range suitable for applications between 20°F (-7°C) and 120°F (49°C), while remaining serviceable from -65°F (-54°C) to 200°F (93°C). This tape meets the stringent AAMA 800-92 standards, ensuring quality and performance. Available in a convenient roll length of 50 ft. (15 m) and a thickness of 0.09 in. (2.29 mm), it is packaged in cases of 20 rolls, making it a practical option for both small and large projects.

CRL Tremco® POLYshim™ II Tape is a 100 percent solids, highly adhesive and elastic, cross linked preformed butyl tape. Use it in compression glazing systems wherever the design calls for high performance glazing of curtain wall, unitized curtain walls, punched and ribbon window systems, and sloped glazing applications.


The continuous rubber shim works to prevent sealant squeeze-out because it is resilient to pressure exerted by building and glass expansion or contraction. It also helps prevent glass breakage by eliminating pressure points created by improper shimming. The continuous shim eliminates the need for preshimming the lite before installing the tape. Tremco® Pre-Shimmed tape has good adhesion, heat resistance, sealant compatibility, and resistance to weathering. It can be used in conjunction with many glazing systems.

Typical Physical Properties
Base Polymer: cross linked butyl rubber (polyisobutylene); Solids Content: 100% by weight. Hardness: 57 durometer Shore "00". Temperature Range: Application 20°F (-7°C) to 120°F (49°C); Service -65°F (-54°C) to 200°F (93°C). Weathering: Unaffected by Ultraviolet through glass. Remains flexible at low temperatures.

Applicable Standards
POLYshim™ II Tape meets the requirements of AAMA 800-92 Specifications 804.3, 806.3, and 807.3.

Limitations
Not for use in joints subjected to continuous water immersion or temperatures exceeding 200°F (93°C). Do not compression glaze glass with POLYshim™ II Tape having less than an 1/8" (3 mm) shim.
