C.R. Laurence FH4DUS Black Bronze Anodized Single Floating Header for Overhead Concealed Door Closers is designed to elegantly support overhead door mechanisms without cutting into the floor. This floating header is ideal for installations featuring 1/2" (12 mm) glass, making it perfect for both glass-to-glass and glass-to-wall applications. With a width of 4 inches (102 mm) and a height of 1-3/4 inches (44 mm), it seamlessly integrates with a variety of design aesthetics. The FH4DUS is particularly beneficial for scenarios where floor closers cannot be utilized due to special finishes or minimal floor thickness. It accommodates overhead concealed door closers or pivots, ensuring a clean and sophisticated look. Available in six standard architectural finishes, this header can also be customized for different configurations, glass thicknesses, and lengths upon special order. For installations where the transom's weight exceeds 100 lbs. (45.4 kg), it must be supported from the ceiling to prevent bowing, utilizing either the B5BC Smoke Baffle Channel or PH94 Patch Fittings. These CRL Floating Headers for Overhead Concealed Door Closers allow the mounting of single or double doors off glass sidelites, with a transom above. Stock Floating Headers are for use in 1/2" (12 mm) glass-to-glass installations, and are prepared to accept CRL Overhead Concealed Door Closers and a 1/2" (12 mm) thick glass transom.


Custom Floating Headers cover the rest of the offered configurations, including various glass thicknesses, Headers in custom lengths, glass-to-wall configurations, and Headers prepped for surface mounted magnetic locks, magnetic shear locks, a surface mounted top pivot, a walking beam pivot or an overhead concealed door closer.

NOTE: If the weight of the transom above the header exceeds 100 lbs. (45.4 kg) the transom will need to be supported from the ceiling to take weight off of the header and prevent bowing. You can use either B5BC Smoke Baffle Channel or PH94 Patch Fittings. Please contact Technical Sales for assistance.
