Adams Rite Manufacturing 5017-02 Self Latching Wood Deadlatch offers exceptional security for wood-framed sliding doors, delivering the same impressive strength as the MS1847 deadbolt designed for metal stiles. This deadlatch features a deeper backset of 1-3/16 inches, ensuring compatibility with recessed jambs commonly found in wood doors. The adjustable bolt throw can be modified easily using a screw located in the faceplate, allowing for a customized fit. Constructed from durable stainless steel, the case measures 1/2 inch x 4 inches x 1-19/32 inches deep, while the laminated stainless steel bolt enhances its resilience against forced entry. The faceplate, measuring 5/8 inch x 4-1/2 inches with radiused ends, adds a sleek touch to your door hardware. Operation is user-friendly, requiring just a 45-degree rotation of the turn or key to throw or retract the bolt. Notably, the self-protecting bolt mechanism retracts automatically if the door is closed while the bolt is extended, preventing potential damage or accidental lockouts. With robust construction and practical features, the Adams Rite 5017-02 is an excellent choice for enhancing the security of your wood sliding doors.
Self Latching Wood Deadlatch, Adjustable Bolt Throw
For wood framed sliding doors the 5017 deadbolt provides the same thousand pound strength that the MS1847 deadbolt provides for metal stiles. A deeper backset clears the recessed jamb used with wood doors. Bolt throw is easily adjusted by means of a screw in the faceplate. Mounting is by through-bolts, which also secure the inside turn and outside cylinder when installed.
