CRL 7672 Diamond Style Spindle 8.5 Lb. Exterior 105 No Hold Open Retrofit Overhead Concealed Closer Body Only offers a seamless solution for replacing outdated Kawneer® Husky® Door Closers installed before 1998. With its unique spindle set in the diamond position at 0º, installation becomes effortless, allowing for the retention of existing door arms and hardware. This overhead concealed closer features an 8.5 lb. spring size, making it suitable for exterior door applications while maintaining an elegant and unobtrusive appearance. Designed for double-acting doors, this model is UL Listed and comes with a 5-year limited warranty. It is essential to note that while the closer supports a maximum door weight of 200 lbs. and a width of 36 inches, site conditions and door dimensions may affect its performance. Independent adjustment valves enable precise control over both closing and latching speeds, enhancing functionality for high-traffic areas. For optimal performance, it is advisable to install an auxiliary floor or overhead door stop to prevent potential damage from over-extension. This CRL Overhead Concealed Door Closer incorporates a spindle set in the diamond position, instead of a square position, at 0º. This enables door installers to replace existing pre-1998 Kawneer® original style Husky® Door Closers without the need to change the door arm, which requires a diamond pattern spindle engagement. With the addition of our Retrofit Clips for either 4" or 4-1/2" (102 or 114 mm) optional headers, the existing door closer can be replaced without the need to replace any additional door hardware. The existing Center-Hung or Offset Arms can be used, as well as the existing pivot.


These Overhead Concealed Door Closers are available in 105º Hold Open and No Hold Open styles, with Medium Spring Size, and an 8.5 lb. model for exterior door applications. A diamond pattern End-Load Center-Hung Replacement Arm, Cat. No. CRL8010H, is also available.

NOTE: May require considerable alterations to retrofit. Mounting Clips are sold separately and are required to mount Closer.

NOTE: An auxiliary floor or overhead door stop is recommended to prevent possible damage to both the door closer and entry way due to over-extension of maximum allowable door swing.

Independent Adjustment Valves
Non-Critical valve control adjusts both Closing Speed and Latching Speed independent of each other.

Special Retaining Rings
Prevent the Adjustment Valve Screws from being backed all the way out of the Door Closer Body.

NOTE: Although Series Door Closers comply with specified opening forces, they might not provide adequate spring power to control and close the door due to varying site conditions and door size.
