Keri Systems LAN-520AESP LAN Port Ship Kit enhances connectivity for Tiger II Controllers, enabling seamless communication over Ethernet. This innovative LAN Port, when paired with the NC-485 Network Converter, allows PXL-500 Tiger II Controllers-typically reliant on a two-wire RS-485 network-to integrate with Ethernet networks. This capability is particularly beneficial for facilities spanning large areas or multiple locations, as it eliminates the need for costly cabling between buildings while maintaining robust security management. The LAN-520 enables the consolidation of previously separate RS-485 networks, simplifying access control across a corporate campus or even across town. With the option to connect all controllers via TCP/IP, users can leverage existing Ethernet LAN/WAN infrastructures without the need for RS-485 networking. Designed for scalability, Keri's PXL-500 Tiger II Controller can manage up to 256 doors at a single site, with the potential to expand to thousands of doors across multiple locations. Each controller features a user capacity of 65,000 and is equipped with a versatile RS-232 serial port for direct PC connections or remote management via TCP/IP. The system is compatible with Keri's Doors32 and is ideally managed using the recommended Doors.NET software for modern installations.
LAN Port Ship Kit
LAN Port for Tiger II Controllers
By using Keri's LAN-520 LAN Port in combination with an NC-485 Network Converter, PXL-500 Tiger II Controllers, which are normally connected via a two-wire RS-485 network, can be connected via Ethernet to bridge long distances within a facility or campus, as well as across any distance where a LAN/WAN exists. This allows customers to combine what would normally be separate sites, each with their own RS-485 network, into a single site for better security management, whether across a corporate campus or across town. Typically, access controllers within a building or group of buildings would be connected using an RS-485 network. If cabling to another building is cost-prohibitive or impossible, but an Ethernet backbone exists between them, the connection can be made by using the LAN-520 LAN Port and NC-485 Network Converter on network segment, which converts the RS-485 network data to an Ethernet packet, then back to RS-485 where the network can be continued. If the customer choses not to run any RS-485 networking, all controllers can be connected via TCP/IP to take advantage of the existing Ethernet LAN/WAN.
Keri’s PXL-500 Tiger II Controller is an RS-485 based hardware platform with a loyal following and years of proven reliability.
Provides sophisticated access control solutions for up to 256 doors at a single site and thousands of doors spread over a number of remote sites. Its companion SB-593 Satellite Expansion Board simply takes flexibility and expandability one step further. The system is managed by Keri’s Doors32 software or Doors.NET software, with Doors.NET being recommended for all new installations.
