A door schedule, a submittal or the paperwork for an existing door says AB6310-48 or AB6160-84, and you need that exact pull. ABH's own documents explain the number, the centers, the fastening and the finish code.
How ABH writes a door pull number: AB6310-48
In the pull tables of ABH's Price List No 15 (August 2026), a row such as AB6310-48 gives the model and, after the dash, the overall length in inches. AB6310-48 is a 48 inch pull, 1-1/4 inches in diameter, on 36 inch centers. The AB3300 cut sheet reads the same way: AB3300-36 is a 36 inch AB3300.
In the families below, the model changes with the diameter. ABH lists AB6300, AB6310 and AB6320 as the 1, 1-1/4 and 1-1/2 inch versions of one flush leather pull, while the upholstery leather family runs AB6160, AB6161, AB6162. The step differs, so take the diameter from the family's own table.
The horizontal pulls AB7212 and AB3526 carry no length after the number. The price list gives both centers of up to 36 inches.
Overall length vs center to center
ABH's AB3300 template measures the overall length from end to end of the pull and center to center (CTC) between the centerlines of the two standoffs. The difference is not constant. These are the rows the price list prints for the AB3300, AB3310, AB6160 and AB6300 families:
| Overall length (in.) | Center to center (in.) |
|---|---|
| 12 | 6 |
| 24 | 18 |
| 36 | 30 |
| 48 | 36 |
| 60 | 48 |
| 72 | 60 |
| 84 | 78 |
| 96 | 90 |
Measure the centers on the door first, then pick the row. If they match none of these, the old pull may be a custom size: a note under these tables says ABH makes custom lengths and centers.
Cut sheets and product pages give a range instead, 6 to 90 inches of centers for the AB3300 and AB6300 families. Long pulls also get a third post. The AB3300, AB6160 and AB6300 cut sheets make a mid post standard over 72 inches, and ABH's AB4134 wood grip page puts that point at 31 inches.
Grips and shapes: metal, leather, wood, aluminum
The price list sorts pulls under leather, metal, wood and synthetic headings. Example families, with ABH's descriptions shortened:
| Models | ABH description | Dia. (in.) |
|---|---|---|
| AB3300, AB3301, AB3302 | Straight, flat ends | 1, 1-1/4, 1-1/2 |
| AB3310, AB3311, AB3312 | Offset, flat ends | 1, 1-1/4, 1-1/2 |
| AB3131 | Offset, slotted | 1 |
| AB6300, AB6310, AB6320 | Flush leather grip | 1, 1-1/4, 1-1/2 |
| AB6160, AB6161, AB6162 | Upholstery leather grip | 1, 1-1/4, 1-1/2 |
| AB4134, AB4144, AB4154 | Offset, wood grip | 1, 1-1/4, 1-1/2 |
| AB3904, AB3914, AB3924 | Black anodized aluminum grip | 1, 1-1/4, 1-1/2 |
| AB3516, AB3526 | Horizontal, grooved grip | 1-1/4, 1-1/2 |
| AB7212 | Horizontal, square ends | 1-1/4 |
Leather and wood need one more choice. The price list pairs each English bridle leather with a plain color: Black Pebble (black), Peat (dark brown), Chestnut (medium brown), Claret (burgundy), Wheat (light brown). The AB6300 and AB6160 cut sheets list Black Pebble and the other four by plain name. The price list shows upholstery leather only as U-Black and U-Dark Brown; the AB6160 cut sheet lists all five colors. Wood comes as standard domestic (hickory, white oak, red oak, maple), premium (beech, cherry, birch) or super premium (mahogany, Jatoba, canary wood, walnut).
The cards under this post name the length, diameter and metal finish, but not the leather color or wood species, so ask us before you order. Both leather cut sheets list lengths to 96 inches but note a leather grip up to 72 inches; ask us about an 84 or 96 inch leather pull.
Mounting types: single side, back to back, concealed
ABH product pages offer these pulls back to back (BTB) or single side, for 1/2 inch glass and for 1-3/4 or 2-1/4 inch wood or metal doors. Page 10 of the price list turns that choice into a mounting type:
| Type | Door | Fastening |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Wood or metal | Single side, thru bolt, finish washer |
| 12 | Wood or metal | Single side, thru bolt, decorative washer |
| 15 | Glass, 1/2 in. | Single side, thru bolt, decorative washer |
| 5 | Wood or metal | Back to back, thru bolt |
| 13 | Glass, 1/2 in. | Back to back, thru bolt |
| 6 | Metal with reinforcement | Surface concealed |
| 6R | Metal with rivnut | Surface concealed |
| 8 | Wood | Surface concealed |
The letters after the type number set the bolt. On that page S means a #8-32 bolt, no letter 1/4-20, HD 5/16-18 and XHD 3/8-16. The page also gives the drill or tap sizes.
The Door Pulls Mounting Matrix at the back of the price list shows which types a pull takes. For AB6160, AB6161 and AB6162 it reads 1HD or 12HD (thru bolt), 6HD or 8HD (concealed) and 5HD (back to back) on wood or metal, with 15HD and 13HD on glass. AB7212 shares the wood and metal types, but on glass it takes only Type 13HD back to back, with base plates. ABH's templates for the AB3300 to AB3302 and AB3310 to AB3312 pulls draw the same HD set. Follow ABH's template for the door prep.
Finish codes for ABH pulls
The product pages of all the families above list the same codes, plus custom finishes. The names come from the finish page of the price list:
| ABH code | ABH finish name |
|---|---|
| US3 | Polished brass |
| US4 | Satin brass |
| US9 | Polished bronze |
| US10 | Satin bronze |
| US10B | Satin oil rubbed bronze |
| US32 | Bright stainless steel (BHMA 629) |
| US32D | Satin stainless steel (BHMA 630) |
| S4/BSPC | Black powder coat |
| S8/WSPC | White powder coat |
Order a powder coat by its full ABH code. BSPC alone is not enough, because the same page lists S2/BSPC as painted brass powder coat and S4/BSPC as black. Our door hardware finish codes chart gives the BHMA numbers for US3, US4, US10 and US10B.
How the same pull appears on our product pages
A card such as ABH AB6310-48 Straight Pull, Flush Leather Grip, 48"-1-1/4", Bright Stainless Steel gives the ABH number with its length, the grip, the size and the finish name. Its Part Number line, ABH_AB631048US32, is our own store number, not an ABH number. ABH pull cards like these sit in the Architectural and Vertical Pulls category; see also the ABH Manufacturing brand page.
If your spec names Rockwood, ABH's Cross Reference 2025 lists RM3300 next to AB3300 and RM3311 next to AB3311. That is ABH's chart, so compare both cut sheets before you substitute (see our Rockwood guide).
Have the pull number, the measured centers, the door material and thickness, the mounting type and the finish code ready. Our customer support team is available Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 4 PM Central Time, at 1-888-800-7789 or [email protected].
