Pamex Model Numbers, Series Names and Finish Codes Explained

Pamex (Pamex Inc.) model numbers combine short codes for the series, finish and, on locks and exit devices, function, in an order that is not the same in every product line. This guide reads them with the ordering keys and finish tables Pamex prints.

Where to look

The main source is the Pamex Multi-Family Architectural Guide (2024, PDF, 148 pages), which prints a HOW TO ORDER key for each lockset, deadbolt and exit device line on pages 9-89. The Pamex general catalog (2024, PDF) adds finish charts on pages 37-39. Page numbers are the guide's printed pages unless the catalog is named.

Some of our titles drop the hyphen: the page titled DD0247CP shows DD02-47CP in its Manufacturer Part Number line, and FINP35D8 shows FINP35-D8. Others keep slashes and hyphens (E9000/EO3-AL, GC4400BF-AL, MS05/MCKW-AL).

Pamex leverset numbers: Alto, Naples, Olympic

The leverset key on page 43 reads FLYE 0 07C G L: series, finish, function, G (printed as "Grade 2 Residential") and handing (L or R). Series codes include FLF Alto, FLU Calypso, FLYE Naples and FLG Olympic; Onyx (FLS) uses the Contemporary Series key on page 36 (FLT 2 08C: series, finish, function). Function and handing terms: our lock functions guide and door handing chart.

  • FLFP03: Alto, P - Satin Nickel, 03 - Passage.
  • FLFP03G: Alto, P - Satin Nickel, 03 - Passage, G.
  • FLYE003L: Naples, 0 - Oil Rubbed Bronze, 03 - Passage, L - Left Handed.
  • FLS903C: Onyx, 9 - Matte Black, 03C - Passage.

The finish table on that page lists "Alto - FLY", while the series list gives "FLF - Alto"; our FLFP03 uses FLF. The leverset features on page 42 print "ANSI/BHMA A 156.2 Grade 3", and Pamex's spec sheet list files FLFG (Alto 2) under "Grade 2 Residential Leverset".

Commercial locks: Mesa, Concord, Fremont

The FYA cylindrical lock key on page 14 reads FYT 0 0 C: series, finish, function, keyway. Our FYS90C is Mesa (FYS), 9 - Matte Black, 0 - Entry (F109), C - SC or KW keyway. Page 14 says the series "Meets ANSI/BHMA A156.2, Series 4000, Grade 1".

The FI interconnected lock key on page 25 reads FIYE P 3 4 L - D8: series, finish, function, center-to-center, handing, cylinder.

  • FI3004: FI3 with 4 inch center-to-center is Concord; 0 - Oil Rubbed Bronze; 0 - Double Locking (F97-4).
  • FINP35-D8: FIN with 5-1/2 inch is Fremont; P - Satin Nickel; 3 - Single Locking (F95-4); D8 - Removable Cylinder; no handing letter.

With the other center-to-center, FI3 is Westfield and FIN is Daytona. Princeton (FY3) has its own FYC key on page 18. Page 25 says the FI line "Meets ANSI/BHMA A156.12, Series 4000, Grade 2".

MS mortise locks

The key on page 11 reads MS - YT S 07 A: series, lever style (YT, YM, YH or YR on sectional trim, EYT, EYM, EYH or EYR on escutcheon plate), finish (S - Satin Chrome), function and option (A - IC Core Housing). Our MS-YTS07 is a YT lever, Satin Chrome, 07 - Storeroom. Page 9 lists the MS series as "ANSI A156.13, Series 1000, Grade 1".

Exit devices, trims and closers

The E9000 rim device key on page 49 reads EF 9000 / EO3 - SS: fire rating (E - Non-Fire Rated, EF - 3-HR Fire Rated), series, function, finish.

  • E9000/EO3-AL: E, 9000 series, EO3 - 3' Rim Type, AL - Satin Chrome.
  • EF9000V/EO3X7-AL: EF, 9000V series, EO3X7 - 3' x 7' Vertical Type (page 50), AL - Satin Chrome.
  • E9100/L3-AL is a trim (key on page 67: E9100 / L3 PA D - AL): escutcheon lever, L3 - Annapolis, blank function - Entry, Satin Chrome.

Page 49 lists the E9000 rim devices as "ANSI A156.3, Grade 1". The guide prints no ordering key for door closers and explains only the finish suffix of GC4400BF-AL: page 101 lists AL - Aluminum (689), DB - Dark Bronze (695) and BL - Matte Black (622), and the GC4400 as "ANSI A156.4, Grade 1".

Pamex finish codes differ by line

In the examples on this page, lock lines use single characters, hinges and door accessories letters, exit devices and closers a suffix after the hyphen. The same code can mean different finishes, so use the table of its own line. A selection:

CodeLine (p.)As printed
P/6Leversets (43)Satin Nickel, US 15, BHMA 619
6FLB tubular locks (20)Satin Stainless Steel, US 32D, BHMA 630
SNCommercial hinges (1)Satin Nickel, US 15, BHMA 646
ALE9000 exit devices (49)Satin Chrome (US26D / 626)
ALGC4400 closers (101)Aluminum (689)
DBE9000 exit devices (49)Dark Bronze (US10B / 695)
DBE9100 trims (67)Dark Bronze (US10B / 613)

The catalog's bath chart (catalog page 39) also prints Dark Bronze as US12P with 713 under the photo and 716 in the table. Where numbers disagree, go by the finish name and ask us. Our finish codes chart explains US and BHMA numbers.

Door accessories, hinges and bath items

The guide prints no ordering keys for these groups; read the patterns below as examples. For the Door Saver III hinge pin stop DD02-47 (page 123) the guide pairs each finish letter with a US code (CP US26, SN US15, OB US10B, BL US19), and our part numbers add the letters: DD02-47CP. Pamex's DD02-47 web page names the US26 version Polished Chrome (US26/625). DD04-30 has no letters: page 128 lists it as "The Blue Thing", a temporary door latch in Blue.

Hinges: page 3 lists H44S-10 as a 4 x 4 inch spring hinge with 1/4 inch radius; our H44S10OB is that hinge in OB, Oil Rubbed Bronze.

In Pamex's spec sheet list, bath collection items start with BC and a collection number, such as BC10 for Charleston. Our BC10BL13818 is Pamex BC10BL-13818; Pamex's Charleston sheet lists BC10-13818 as the 18 inch towel bar, and our page gives BL as the finish code for Matte Black. Bath collections in the guide (pages 130-134): Solano, Vina, Charleston, Ventura, Carmel, Seal Beach, Estes, Campbell, Corona and Edison.
