Residential Essentials Item Numbers, Collections and Finish Codes Explained

On our product pages and in the maker's online galleries, a Residential Essentials item number is a base number followed by two finish letters, such as 2248BK or 10814VB. This page shows how to read them for bath hardware, cabinet hardware, decorative hooks and switch plates, and which finishes each group comes in, according to the maker's website and product sheets.

Residential Essentials on our store

Our Residential Essentials brand page lists 554 products: 351 cabinet hardware items (knobs, pulls, backplates and mock keys), 149 bath hardware items, 34 switch plates and 20 decorative hooks. Each title gives the brand, the item number, the item name and the finish, as in "Residential Essentials 10204SB Cabinet Hardware Pull, Satin Brass".

Residential Essentials finish codes: AP, BK, PC, SB, SN, VB

The two letters at the end of the number give the finish. The maker's Decorative Hooks page pairs each finish name with a numbered item:

LettersFinishExample
APAged Pewter10601AP
BKBlack10601BK
PCPolished Chrome10601PC
SBSatin Brass10602SB
SNSatin Nickel10601SN
VBVenetian Bronze10601VB

These are the maker's own finish names. We found no BHMA or US finish numbers for them on its pages or sheets, so order by the finish name and letters.

On the maker's bath and hook pages the base number stays the same from one finish to the next: the Woodrich robe hook is 2103AP, 2103SN and 2103VB. Not every item comes in every finish, so check the lists below before you change the letters.

Bath hardware numbers: series 2100 to 2600

Bath hardware numbers have four digits. Residential Essentials names its six bath collections by series: Woodrich 2100, Bradford 2200, Ridgeview 2300, Addison 2400, Hamilton 2500 and Prescott 2600. All 41 base numbers on the six collection pages start with the first two digits of their series, and the last two digits give the piece:

DigitsPiece (maker's name)
03Robe Hook
07Euro Tissue
08Standard Tissue
1818" Towel Bar
2424" Towel Bar
4824" Double Towel Bar
86Towel Ring

The maker's Bath Hardware Instructions sheet prints the same codes in parentheses, for example Robe Hook (03) and Towel Ring (86). The double towel bar is not on that sheet; the collection pages list it as 48, for example 2148AP for Woodrich in Aged Pewter.

Put together, 2248BK is the Bradford (22) 24" Double Towel Bar (48) in Black (BK), and 2386SN is the Ridgeview (23) Towel Ring (86) in Satin Nickel (SN). The Hamilton page lists no double towel bar, and the maker's bath dimension sheet prints "Not Available" in its place, so no 2548 appears on the maker's pages or on our store.

Bath collections and their finishes

The maker's Bath Hardware page describes each collection by its design and lists its finishes:

CollectionDesign; finishes
Woodrich 2100Rope; AP, SN, VB
Bradford 2200Round; AP, BK, PC, SN, VB
Ridgeview 2300Arched; AP, SN, VB
Addison 2400Oval; AP, SN, VB
Hamilton 2500Rectangle; AP, BK, PC, SN, VB
Prescott 2600Diamond; AP, SN, VB

None of the six collections lists Satin Brass. Our store has a page for each piece in each finish the Bath Hardware page lists for its collection, 149 in all.

Cabinet knobs, pulls and backplates: five-digit item numbers

Cabinet hardware numbers have five digits before the finish letters. The maker's four Cabinet Hardware Dimensions sheets list 108 of them: 99 between 10201 and 10396, the even numbers from 10402 to 10416, and 10452. We found no key to these digits on the maker's website or sheets, so read them as an item number only, not as a code for a type or a size.

The sheets list each item by the five digits alone, without finish letters, with a picture and its measurements. To look up 10204SB, for example, find 10204: the sheet gives 3-11/16 x 1-1/4 x 1-1/8 inches (L x W x D) and 3 inches center to center. Residential Essentials posts these sheets on its website under Product Dimensions, and our cabinet pull sizes guide explains center-to-center, overall length and projection.

The maker's Backplates page, shown in Venetian Bronze, has 10227, 10247, the even numbers from 10402 to 10416 and 10452. The dimension sheet adds two notes: for 10227, the mock key is included with the backplate and can be used separately; for 10247, the ring is included with the backplate and can be mounted horizontally or vertically.

The maker's Cabinet Hardware page counts the styles of knobs and pulls offered in each finish: 45 in Aged Pewter, 45 in Black, 60 in Polished Chrome, 20 in Satin Brass, 88 in Satin Nickel and 85 in Venetian Bronze. Because the counts differ, not every style comes in every finish.

Decorative hooks: 10601, 10602, 10603 and 10605

The maker's Decorative Hooks page shows four hooks, 10601, 10602, 10603 and 10605, in all six finishes. Our store lists the four numbers in AP, BK, PC, SN and VB (20 pages).

Switch plates 10811 to 10843: Single, Double, Triple, Quad

The maker's switch plate sheet draws 17 plates and states: "All Switch Plates are available in Satin Nickel or Venetian Bronze". Our store lists all 17 plates in both finishes (34 pages). The maker's Switch Plates page names each plate:

NumberMaker's name
10811Single Blank
10812Single Cable
10813Single Switch
10814Single Recep
10815Single Rocker
10821Double Blank
10822Double Switch
10823Double Recep
10824Double Rocker
10825Double Rocker/Switch
10826Double Rocker/Recep
10827Double Switch/Recep
10832Triple Switch
10833Triple Recep
10834Triple Rocker
10842Quad Switch
10843Quad Rocker

In this list of 17, the names start with Single for the 1081x numbers, Double for 1082x, Triple for 1083x and Quad for 1084x. Some of our product titles word the plates differently; the table uses the maker's names.
