You have an ABH electromagnetic door holder to mount or replace, and the drawing you need depends on more than the four-digit number. A 2100 with a timer, a 2400 with a low profile armature and a 2300 for a door held open at about 180 degrees each have their own ABH template. The mount type and the letters after the number point to the right drawing.
Which ABH electromagnetic holder do you have?
ABH names these holders by where the magnet mounts and by the armature on the door. Each model links to its ABH cut sheet.
| Model | Mount and armature | Projection |
|---|---|---|
| 2100, 2100T, 2100RS | Recessed wall, standard armature | 2-5/8 (3-5/8) |
| 2300, 2300T, 2300RS | Surface wall, standard armature | 4-5/8 (5-5/8) |
| 2400 | Flush wall, standard armature | 1-7/8 (2-7/8) |
| 2400L | Flush wall, low profile armature | 1-1/8 |
| 2400LS | Flush wall, extreme low profile armature | 5/8 |
| 2400LR | Ligature resistant flush wall, angled armature head | - |
| 2510 | Surface wall, heavy duty | 4-1/2 (5-1/2) |
| 2600 | Single floor mount, standard armature | - |
| 2700 | Double floor mount, 2 standard armatures | - |
Projection is the total from the wall to the door face in inches, as printed on the cut sheets; the figure in parentheses adds the 1 inch extension included with the unit. The 2400LR sheet gives a 1-1/2 inch door armature that extends with six included 1/4 inch rings. All holder sheets except the 2510 list 35 lbs. holding force. The 2510 is listed as heavy duty for 300 lbs.
What T, RS, L, LS and LR mean
- T - built-in timer release, which the price list says allows for disconnect and reset. The 2100T and 2300T templates give a factory preset of 3 minutes, counted from the moment the opened door brings the armature plate against the wall magnet and pushes the activation switch. Then the door releases on its own.
- RS - built-in ON/OFF rocker switch. The RS templates note that the cover can be mounted with the switch on top or bottom.
- L - 2400L, flush wall mount with a low profile armature.
- LS - 2400LS, flush wall mount with an extreme low profile armature.
- LR - 2400LR, which ABH calls a ligature resistant flush wall mount with angled armature head. The price list marks SEC screws as standard on it.
In ABH Price List No 15, only the 2100 and 2300 come in T and RS versions.

The standard wall templates start from the distance between the pivot centerline and the wall (Dim. A) and the door width (Dim. B); a table then gives the magnet box position (Dim. C) and the degree of door opening. Where A and B meet in the shaded area, the template says "DO NOT INSTALL magnet box", because at that degree of door opening the armature and the wall magnet cannot line up properly.
The three 180 degree templates are not separate models in the price list. They cover a 2100, 2300 or 2400 on a door held open at about 180 degrees and locate the magnet from the pivot centerline by door width alone, for nominal widths of 24 to 48 inches.
The wall templates also cap the total projection of door hardware on the pull side of the door, at 3-5/8 inches on the 2100, 5-5/8 on the 2300 and 2-7/8 on the 2400. Beyond that, they call for additional extensions, sold separately.
The 2600 and 2700 templates have no lookup table. They locate the conduit for the floor magnet on an arc struck from the door pivot, and the 2700 template, for two doors, lists a maximum door opening of 130 degrees.
The cut sheets for the 2100, 2300, 2400, 2400L, 2400LS, 2510 and 2600 list an outlet box as required and not provided, and the 2100 template says the same. The 2100T template, however, describes the 4 x 2-1/8 x 2 inch outlet box as provided with the unit, so if that detail affects your order, ask us before you buy. The 2300 drawings also show an electrical box, which the price list sells on its own as 23005 (2300 Electrical Box Only); its cut sheet still lists an outlet box as required and not provided.
Extensions, replacement parts and fasteners
Extra extensions of 3/8, 1/2, 3/4, 1, 2, 4 or 6 inches are sold separately, according to the templates. In the price list they are 20038, 20050, 20075, 20100, 20200, 20400 and 20600, and the list also has 20120, a 1-1/2 inch extension with a 120 degree swivel.
A selection of replacement parts from the accessories pages of the price list:

All nine holder cut sheets list two option codes: SEC, security fasteners for all exposed areas, and THICK, fasteners for a 1-3/8 or 2-1/4 inch thick door (please specify).
Voltage, wiring and fire doors
ABH's cut sheets list every holder except the 2510 as tri-voltage: 12V DC, 24V AC/DC or 120V AC. The 2510 is 24V AC/DC only. The 2100T and 2300T templates, however, list only 12V DC for the timer models and show a single wiring diagram, for 12 VDC. Electrical data and wiring diagrams are on the model templates, not on the 180 degree sheets. Each cut sheet also carries the line "UL/ULC Listed for Smoke Barrier or Labeled Fire Door". Wiring, and any connection to a fire alarm or release system, should follow ABH's instructions, local codes and the authority having jurisdiction, and is work for a qualified installer.
