When you reorder a C.R. Laurence (CRL) part or match its finish, start with the item number. On our store the title of a CRL product page starts with CRL and that number, for example SDK112PN or GEN037BR. Below we show how those numbers are put together, what the finish letters stand for and when the letters alone are not enough.

The pages name the finish in words but do not explain every part of a number, so the patterns below are what these examples show, not rules.
How a CRL catalog number is built
CRL's shower door catalog lists the Cylinder Style back-to-back knob as catalog number SDK112 and the Geneva wall mount hinge with a full back plate as GEN037: base numbers with no finish in them. On crlaurence.com each finish of the knob has its own item number. The finish selector on the knob's page lists six:
- SDK112CH - Polished Chrome
- SDK112BN - Brushed Nickel
- SDK112PN - Polished Nickel
- SDK112MBL - Matte Black
- SDK112BBRZ - Brushed Bronze
- SDK1120RB - Oil Rubbed Bronze
In these examples the item number is the catalog number plus the finish letters. Our pages use the same number: it is in the title of CRL SDK112PN Polished Nickel Back-to-Back Shower Door Knobs, and the Part Number line shows it with a CRL_ prefix (CRL_SDK112PN).
CRL finish codes: a selection
These pairs of letters and finish names come from the finish selectors on crlaurence.com product pages. It is a selection, not CRL's full list.

0RB is written with a zero, not the letter O. That matters after a number that ends in a digit. The catalog lists a fixed panel regular U-channel as SDCR12, and its Oil Rubbed Bronze version is SDCR120RB, next to SDCR12BN and SDCR12MBL in the same selector.
The Hardware Finishes page of CRL's shower door catalog and the Finish Cross Reference Guide show finishes by name, without letters. The catalog page shows 24 finishes. The cross reference guide lists 20 CRL finishes next to the finish names of seven other brands, from Kohler to California Faucets.
Same finish, different letters
The same finish name can carry different letters, and the same letters can carry different finish names. In CRL's selectors, for example:
- Polished Brass is BR on the Geneva hinge (GEN037BR), a top door patch fitting (PH20CBR) and the round mirror clip set (MC02BR), but PB on a Blumcraft panic handle (PA100F4GKPB) and a tapered door rail (DR4TPB12SL).
- DU is Black Bronze Anodized on the patch fitting (PH20CDU) and the door rail (DR4TDU12SL), but Dark Bronze on a Jackson offset pivot set (0P25LHDU). On the DC52 surface mount door closer, Dark Bronze is BRZ (DC52BRZ).
- A is Satin Anodized on the patch fitting (PH20CA) but Aluminum on the pivot set (0P25LHA) and the closer (DC52A). The door rail uses SA for Satin Anodized (DR4TSA12SL).
On our product pages, read the finish in the Finish/Color attribute and use the letters as a second check. A title can shorten or reword the name: our PH20CDU title says Dark Bronze, while the attribute says Black Bronze Anodized, as CRL's selector does.
Numbers that do not end in the finish
Some numbers continue after the finish letters. CRL's selector for the door rail DR4TSA12SL changes only the letters after DR4T: DR4TBS12SL is Brushed Stainless Steel and DR4TMBL12SL is Matte Black. The cap rail GRL10BS20 is Brushed Stainless Steel, with 20 after the letters. The showcase sliding door lock 0911SCKA is Satin Chrome and Keyed Alike in CRL's title; 0911BCKA is listed in Black Chrome.
Letters in front of the finish can differ too. On crlaurence.com the Blumcraft handle PA100F4LKBS is listed as Left Hand Reverse, Low Profile Rail Mount, and PA100F4GKPB as Left Hand Reverse, All-Glass Door Mount. Those two pages do not explain the letters, so go by the attributes on the product page.
Numbers without a finish ending

Some endings are numbers. CRL also lists Adams Rite products: DH4550L628 is Clear Anodized and DH4550L313 is Dark Bronze, the same endings as the finish codes 628 and 313 in our Adams Rite model number guide.
Blumcraft, Jackson and U.S. Aluminum
Some CRL titles carry a second name, and the name is in our titles for the examples below too.
- Blumcraft: CRL's title for the handle above starts with CRL-Blumcraft. CRL's Blumcraft page lists access control handles, glass entrances, balanced doors, glass railings, gate systems, smoke baffles and display cases in the brand's portfolio. Example: our PA100F4LKBS Blumcraft panic handle.
- Jackson: the name is in CRL titles such as the Jackson 1000 Series overhead concealed door closer (J1093H0), and on our 0P25LHDU Jackson offset pivot set, whose CRL page lists the brand as Jackson.
- U.S. Aluminum: CRL's U.S. Aluminum page describes the brand's field as architectural aluminum systems for commercial buildings, and CRL's title for the NP238 gasket above starts with CRL-U.S. Aluminum.
