Unless the Hafele catalog says otherwise, Hafele fittings come without mounting screws. This guide explains how the catalog names its furniture screws, starting with Varianta euro screws, and which screw the catalog pages name for common hinge plates, drawer slides and connectors.
Source: Hafele, The Complete Furniture and Cabinetry Hardware, 2026 edition, published on hafele.com; page numbers refer to it. The screw pages are in section 13. For how Hafele item numbers are built, see our Hafele item numbers guide.
Are mounting screws included with Hafele fittings?
Page FC 3 of the catalog says: "Unless otherwise indicated, mounting screws are not included and must be ordered separately. The symbols shown on product pages indicate the type of screw required." On fitting pages these symbols read, for example, VARIANTA with a 5 or a 3, Flat Head or Pan Head, and a line at the foot of the page points to the screw page, such as "Varianta screws page 13.16". On page 13.16, VARIANTA 5 marks the screws for 5 mm system holes and VARIANTA 3 the screw for 3 mm system holes.
Varianta euro screws for 5 mm and 3 mm system holes
Page 13.16 lists four kinds of Varianta euro screw. It names no fittings for the 3 mm screw; that row comes from the screw guide on page 13.6. Lengths are in mm.
| Screw | Listed for | mm |
|---|---|---|
| Countersunk, 7 mm head, #2 Phillips | Drawer slides | 10.5, 13.5, 16 |
| Countersunk, 7.8 mm head, #2 Phillips | Hinge mounting plates, Tab and Tab-V connectors, push-in fittings | 10.5, 13.5, 16 |
| Cylinder head, 9 mm, #2 Pozi | Rasant-Tab connectors, universal and back panel brackets | 11, 15, 16 |
| Countersunk, 7.8 mm head, #2 Pozi, for 3 mm holes | Hinge mounting plates, TAB connectors, push-in fittings | 10.5, 13.5 |
The thread diameter is 6.3 mm for the two countersunk screws for 5 mm holes, 6 mm for the cylinder head and 4.2 mm for the 3 mm version. Page 13.16 prints a bulk number (012) next to 11 of its 13 pack numbers (013), for example 013.20.930 and 012.20.930, and the drawer slide screw is also listed with #2 Pozi drive as a 15 mm bulk item, 012.14.727.
Examples on our site:
- 013.50.718: 10.5 mm, for drawer slides
- 013.51.715: 10.5 mm, for hinge mounting plates and connectors
- 012.20.930: cylinder head, 15 mm, zinc-plated, bulk

Page 13.15 lists more screws for 5 mm system holes: euro screws with #2 square drive (10 and 13 mm), a 15 mm pan head with #2 Pozi drive, and round washer head screws (15 and 28 mm) "for attachment of hardware in system holes, universal brackets, accessories, etc."

Wood and chipboard screws: head shapes and drives
The screw guide on pages 13.4-13.5 shows heads including flat countersunk, pan, trim, round washer, raised countersunk and modified truss, with Phillips, square, Pozi or combination drives. Some of the series:
- Zip-R (pages 13.7-13.9): flat countersunk or pan head, #2 Phillips or #2 square drive, Type 17 self-drilling point; some flat head versions have nibs under the head for self-countersinking. The flat head tables run from #6 x 1/2" to #8 x 3".
- Spax (page 13.10): Uni-drive, a square and Phillips combination, with serrated cutting threads; the flat head list says "No pre-drilling required".
- Raised countersunk head screws (page 13.14): #2 Pozi drive, nickel-plated, "For mounting European hinges and mounting plates", #6 x 9/16" to #8 x 1-1/2". Our product page for one of them, 015.55.639, uses the name Hospa chipboard screw.
- Round washer head screws (page 13.14): "For attachment of drawer faces to drawer box, allows for adjustment", and for hardware such as universal brackets and casters.
M4 and 8-32 modified truss head screws for handles and knobs
Page 13.17, "Screws for Decorative Hardware", lists modified truss head screws with a combination cross/slot drive in two threads. M4 runs from 10 to 75 mm, zinc-plated, with 15 and 25 mm also nickel-plated; 8-32 runs from 10 to 75 mm in yellow zinc, with some lengths zinc-plated. Cut-off versions are "cut to length by using wire snips", with length options of 19-45 mm (3/4" to 1-3/4"). Examples: 022.35.252 (M4 x 25 mm, zinc-plated) and the cut-off 022.35.887 (M4).
Rafix connecting bolts: an older Hafele catalog page
The Rafix Connecting Bolts (PDF) lists Rafix connecting bolts for 5 mm holes, push-through bolts and a double-ended bolt. It is page 125 of a section headed Construction Hardware and shows no year, so it is not from the 2026 edition, which lists Rafix connecting bolts on page 12.12 and push-through and double-ended bolts on page 12.15. Check item numbers there.
