Each product page we opened on Santec's own website, santecfaucet.com, links two documents: an installation instruction and a specification sheet. This page explains what each one shows and how to get from the number in our product title, such as 7196HO75-TM, to the current documents on Santec's website.
What a Santec specification sheet shows
The specification sheets we opened on Santec's site (for 9550KL, 3420HO-TM, 5518LT and the Athena and Metra thermostatic trims) are one-page dimension drawings with no item text. The features and the valve or rough line are printed on the Santec product page under Features, for example "USE P0002 ROUGH (NOT INCLUDED)" for the Klassica Roman tub filler trim.
What a Santec installation instruction contains
The instructions linked from the current Santec pages we checked:
- Rough 1/2" Thermostatic Installation Instruction (8 pages) for valves TH-9010, TH-9210, TH-9212, TH-9310 and TH-9313: one page per valve with its outlets, an installation page with an outlets diagram, and a maintenance page with cartridge cleaning.
- 1/2" Thermostatic Trim Installation Instruction, Rev 09/2025 (11 pages), for valves TH-9010, TH-9210/9212 and TH-9310/9313: a drawing of the valve and trim with 18 numbered parts, the trim installation steps, the P00200 extension kit, for use "If the valve is roughed too far into the wall", and maintenance.
- Estate Series pressure balanced tub/shower valve for PB-3750 (3 pages, file dated 07-12-2024): specifications and dimensions, rough-in and valve installation, reversing the cartridge, and setting the hot limit. That section states: "IT IS THE INSTALLERS RESPONSIBILITY TO SET THE MAXIMUM OUTPUT TEMPERATURE OF THE VALVE TO NO MORE THAN 120F, IN ACCORDANCE WITH ASSE/ANSI STANDARD 1016-1996".
- Rough for Roman tub filler, P0002, Edo and Klassica collections (2 pages, file dated 2025-09-30): rough installation for the handles and the spout.
- Klassica Roman tub filler / P0002 valve, 9550KL-TM (5 pages, file dated 2025-09-30): rough and trim installation for the spout and the handles.
- Athena widespread lavatory set, 3420HO, Rev 07/2025 (3 pages): spout, handle trim and push pop-up installation.
- Tub spout instruction (3 pages, file dated 2026-01-09), linked from the Lattice tub spout page: threaded and quick connect spouts.
From our item number to Santec's documents
- Read the number in our title. In Santec 9550KL10-TM KLASSICA TRIM - Roman Tub Filler, the instruction prints the model as 9550KL-TM, and 10 is the finish: Santec's finish list shows Polished Chrome (10). KLASSICA is the collection.
- On santecfaucet.com, open Collections and that collection (for example Metra; Santec names Athena "Athena I"), or Categories and then Valves for a valve. A search for 7196HO on Santec's site found no product when we tried it.
- Open the product with the same description: our KLASSICA TRIM - Roman Tub Filler is Santec's TRIM - Roman Tub Filler in Klassica. In the pages we opened, one page covers all finishes of a model.
- Under Technical Documents, open INSTALLATION or SPECIFICATION SHEET. The file names we saw carry no finish digits, for example 3420HO-Installation-Instruction_2025-09-30.pdf, and some do not match the model: the drawing on the 7196HO trim page is named 7095-to-7099HO-TM-TH-9000_20220725.pdf.
- Read the Features list for the valve or rough line before you order a trim. The product pages we checked on our site show the title, finish and collection, but not this line.
