Slide-Co / Prime-Line Catalog: A Guide to Sliding Door and Window Hardware Parts

The Slide-Co catalog (also searched as Slideco) is a 498-page hardware catalog with parts for sliding screen doors, sliding patio doors, sliding windows and more. This page shows what is in it and on which pages, how its entries help you identify a part, and where the Prime-Line items are in our store.

Which Slide-Co catalog this is

The file has no cover and opens with the table of contents; we found no edition date printed in it. Its PDF properties show that it was created in February 2008 and last modified in September 2014. Treat it as an older reference copy, not as a list of what is available today. Some entries are stamped "Call for Availability".

The Slide-Co name is printed in the page footers. The screening accessories section (page PL-1) is presented as Make-To-Fit from Prime-Line, and our own product pages describe the brand as "Prime Line (Previously Slide-Co)".

What is in the Slide-Co catalog

The table of contents is on the first two pages. Each section has its own page labels, such as 13-1 or 17A-4, printed at the bottom of the page. The sections are not in numerical order in the file, so use the PDF page numbers below to jump to a section.

How the Slide-Co catalog identifies a part

Most entries are built the same way. Page 12-1 is a good example:

  • Part number, with the variant in parentheses: finish, material, size or hand. For example, 1204-R is the right-hand and 1204-L the left-hand version of the same latch and pull.
  • A line drawing with dimensions in inches. Some handle and latch drawings carry a dimension marked H.C.; page 12-9 writes the term out as "hole centers". Roller drawings on page 11-1 give the wheel diameter as O.D.
  • Contents: what is in the package.
  • Description: the construction, surface mount or mortise installation, whether the part is handed, and often the door make, for example "fits on Keller doors".
  • "You may wish to stock these related parts": a list of related part numbers.

What the catalog asks you to measure or check

We found no general "how to identify your part" page in the catalog. Instructions are printed where they apply, for example:

  • Patio door flush mount handle sets (page 14-12): a "Hook Locations" diagram separates mid-body and standard hook positions, and the drawings give the hole centers.
  • Patio door mortise locks (page 15-1): most entries state whether the face plate ends are square or round and whether the keyway is vertical or at 45 degrees with the hook fully extended.
  • Window balances (page 17C-27): the "Ordering Tips" say to check the back side of the channel for stamped numbers.
  • Spiral window balances (page 17C-32): the "How to order" box says to determine the series designation, measure the tube length and specify the nylon bearing color, which indicates the spring weight.
  • RV and mobile home window operators (page 22A-4): "Hand determined from outside of window looking in."
  • Screen retainer spline (page PL-6): a chart labeled "Actual Sizes" pictures each spline diameter.

Slide-Co part numbers and the master index

The last 15 pages of the file are a master index that pairs each part number with its catalog page. The PDF also has a text layer, so the search function of your PDF viewer finds a part number too.

Most numbers with a letter prefix are printed with a hyphen in the catalog (K-5092, J-4581, GD-52143). Our product names write them without the hyphen (K5092, J4581, GD52143), so search the PDF with the hyphen. All-numeric numbers such as 14420 are written the same way in both places.

Prime-Line and Slide-Co items at The Builders Supply

We list a small selection of Prime-Line items, not the whole catalog; our Prime-Line brand page shows them all. Examples, with the catalog page that shows the same part number:

PartCatalog pageIn our store
1442014-12Flush mount handle set
1769315A-4Wood window lock
K5092K-4Security screen or storm door lever set
K5061K-5Storm or screen door double lock cylinder
J4581J-13Door push plate
GD52143GD-12Emergency garage door release

Not every Prime-Line number we list is in this catalog. E-2013, for example, is not in its master index, but our product page for the Prime-Line E2013 patio door mortise lock also lists the alternate code 15410, and the catalog shows mortise lock 15410 on page 15-2. The product page lists four features to compare with your old lock: the distance between the mounting holes, the shape of the faceplate ends, the keyway position when locked and the shape of the rear housing corners.
