Can a Smedbo towel hook, roll holder or shower basket go on a tiled wall without drilling? Smedbo answers it item by item: an Assembly line on the product page, and drawings of each method in its Assembly Instructions. This page explains the three methods in Smedbo's own words and shows how to find the instruction sheet for an item number.
The Assembly line: Screw, Glue or Screw, Glue, Self-adhesive

Some of our Smedbo pages show the same line under Attributes (H320N and TK341, for example); others, such as DK3001, do not, so check the item on smedbo.com. Smedbo's Make-up mirror collection can even be filtered by Assembly.
Mounting with screws
The smedbo.com pages of RK325, H320N and DK3001 print "Screws included". The H320N description reads: "Mounted with included screws or purchase the special adhesive i.Composite Gluemix". For the RK325 grab bar the Assembly line reads Screw, and the HOUSE sheet lists #325 under "Not to glue".
Mounting with glue: iComposite GlueMix 6000-10
Smedbo's text on our 6000-10 iComposite GlueMix page says "Mount without drilling", "Complete with glue and cleaning cloth" and "Fits most SMEDBO Products", then adds:
"SMEDBO does not recommend gluing of Grab Bars and Swing Arm Towel Rails. And not Products from AIR, DRY or LIVING."
The 2024 HOUSE and HOME sheets name item numbers: "Not to glue: grab bars (#225, #325), towel rails (#226, #326, #328), hooks (#245, #259, OK327) and AIR".
The GlueMix mounting instructions list the set components: a sponge, an i.CLEANER cleaning cloth, a 2K adhesive sachet and a fixation support cardboard. On surfaces the sheet says: "The bonding surface must be able to bear weight, such as tiles, ceramics, concrete, glass, aluminum, Steel, stainless steel, wood, natural and artificial stone. Glue should not be used to bond wallpaper or paper." The HOUSE and HOME sheets add: "Not recommended for mounting on wet room wallpaper."
The waiting time before the product goes on differs from sheet to sheet:
- GlueMix sheet: "Wait four hours before you attach your product to the mounting plate."
- XTRA F966 sheet: "let the glue cure for app. 4 hours, see the glue package."
- SIDELINE basket sheet (PDF from 2023): a 4h mark in the glue drawings.
- HOUSE and HOME sheets (PDF from 2024): a 24h mark between gluing to the wall and hanging the product.
Follow the sheet for your item. The GlueMix sheet also says: "Ensure good ventilation during application and curing." and "May produce an allergic reaction. Safety data sheet available on request."
Mounting plates F966 and FB966
The DK3001 page on smedbo.com says: "Glue and Mounting plate are sold separately: iComposite GlueMix, art no 6000-10. Mounting Plate, art no F966." The 2023 SIDELINE basket sheet shows F966 and FB966 next to its glue drawings for items such as #1001, #2001 and #3001, and prints "Not for DS2001, DS2021, DV3001, DX3001". On the HOUSE and HOME sheets, F966 and FB966 appear in the glue drawings for #3455 with the line "Mounting plate for glue is bought separately".
Our F966 mounting plate page describes a polished chrome XTRA plate for single hooks and other shower baskets in the Smedbo range: 2 plates, not for DK2031 or ZK3455. The F966 sheet refers to "the instructions for assembly, safety and use on the i.Composite original package."
Self-adhesive items
Smedbo calls DOT its "self-adhesive bathroom series", and some SIDELINE items are self-adhesive too. The TK341 page on smedbo.com says it "Mounts with included 3M tape". Our self-adhesive Smedbo items include the TK341 roll holder, the DK4100 shower shelf and the DB2170 floor squeegee with its self-adhesive hook.
The TK341 and DK4100 pages on smedbo.com note: "Do not use on wet room wallpaper or on uneven surfaces." The 2024 DOT sheet says: "Clean the wall surface thoroughly and let it dry for 10 minutes. Do not use oil based cleaner." Waiting times differ: the 2025 DB/DK4100 and DB/DK4111 shelf sheet says "Let adhesive set for 24 hours before the product is used", the DOT sheet shows a clock marked 24, and the TK341 and DK4100 pages on smedbo.com say "Leave the product in place for 72 hours before using it." Check both documents for your item.
Smedbo's text on our B698 Self-adhesive Sheets page: "Self-adhesive Sheets, 2 pcs. For adhesive hooks products. 3M Adhesive sheets. 150 x 200 mm."
How to find the Assembly Instructions for an item number
- Take the item number from our product title, for example H320N.
- Search smedbo.com for that number. Smedbo's product addresses can be in Swedish (RK325 is /products/house-badkarshandtag-krom), so search by number.
- If the US store finds nothing, try the UK store (www.smedbo.com/en-gb). On October 12, 2026, FK487H returned no result on the US store and one result on the UK store.
- On the product page, open Assembly Instructions and choose Download. Not every page has one: the B698 page has no Assembly Instructions section.
The sheets quoted here combine numbered drawings with text in several languages (six on the HOUSE sheet). The HOUSE, HOME, DOT and SIDELINE basket sheets list items by number (RK325 is #325 on the HOUSE sheet), but some notes keep the letters (OK327 under "Not to glue"; "Not for DS2001, DS2021, DV3001, DX3001"), so use the sheet linked from your item's smedbo.com page. The F966 sheet shows only #966; the shelf sheet covers DB/DK4100 and DB/DK4111.
