The short product line Smedbo prints for its make-up and shaving mirrors can tell you how a mirror mounts, how much it magnifies, whether it is lit and how it is powered. This page shows how to read those lines and tell AA battery, USB-charged and hardwired mirrors apart.
Where to find the product line
On our Smedbo mirror pages the line appears under a short heading such as "Shaving/Make-up Mirror". For the FK484EP it reads: "OUTLINE Shaving/Make-up Mirror with LED-technology Dual Light (warm and cool light). Polished Chrome. PMMA Frame. Free Standing. Battery operated with 4 pcs. 1.5V AA batteries (not included). Magnifies 5 times. Mirror Diameter 200 mm. Height 380 mm." Smedbo's FK484EP page has the same text.
Smedbo's US make-up mirror collection lists 30 models, all in the OUTLINE series. Our store also lists models outside that collection, such as the hardwired FK487H and the GLOW suction cup mirror FB621.
Mounting: wall mounted, free standing, on bar, suction cup or travel
- Wall mounted with an arm: FK445 (polished chrome) and FB445 (black) are both an OUTLINE "Swing arm Make-up Mirror"; both lines say "Wall mounted" and list a 200 mm mirror (about 7-7/8 inches) and a 340 mm arm (about 13-3/8 inches).
- Free standing: FK484EP is listed as Free Standing, 380 mm high.
- On bar: FK493 is a "Make-up Mirror on Bar", "Adjustable both in height and sideways", with a 210 mm mirror.
- Suction cups: FX625 is an "OUTLINE LITE Make-up Mirror with Suction Cups". Smedbo's FB625 page says the suction cups let you "easily attach it to your regular larger mirror". FB621 is a 90 mm "GLOW Make-up Mirror with Suction Cups".
- Travel: FB627 is an "OUTLINE LITE Travel Mirror" with a 120 mm mirror; FK443 is a travel mirror with a swivel stand and a neoprene protective travel case.
Sizes are in millimeters as Smedbo prints them; the inch values above are approximate conversions. Some lines give two dimensions instead of a diameter, for example FK492EP: "Mirror 200 x 200 mm". A Smedbo product page can also print an Assembly line, for example Screw for FK445, Glue or Screw for FK485EP and FK487EP, and Self-adhesive for FK442. Follow the Assembly Instructions for your model.
How much does the mirror magnify?
Smedbo prints the magnification in its own wording: "Magnifies 5 times" (FK484EP, FK485EP), "Magnifies 7 times" (FK487EP, FK487H), "X7 magnification" (FK493) and "12x Magnification" (FB621). The lowest magnification in the US collection is on FK435: "Two sides - normal and magnifies 3 times."
Some lines name two sides, for example FK445: "Two sides - normal and magnifies 7 times." A line that names only one magnification does not say whether there is also a normal side; ask us if it matters.
LED light: dual light, sensor, Kelvin and lumen
- In the lines we checked, lit models name the light, for example "LED-technology" (FK484EP) or "LED" (FB627). The lines of FK445, FV445S, FK493 and FK443 name no light.
- Dual light: the FK484EP line names "Dual Light (warm and cool light)". Smedbo's Assembly Instructions booklet X1711REVA says Dual Light lets you switch between a warm and a day light.
- Sensor: FK487EP, FK487H, FK488EP, FK491EP and FK492EP have a sensor-activated light. Smedbo's pages for them say the motion sensor turns on the LED lights "when detecting movement at 15 cm distance" and turns them off after 12 seconds without movement.
- Automatic off: the FK485EP line says "Automatically turns off after 15 minutes"; the FB627 light turns off when the mirror closes.
Booklet X1711REVA explains that light color "is measured in Kelvin degrees where high degrees correspond to daylight tone while low degrees correspond to warm reddish tones", and that lumen describes how much light the mirror emits in all directions. Figures differ by model: Smedbo's FK487EP page prints ~6900 K and 58 lm, while booklet E60548700REVG lists ~6500 K for FK487H and ~5800 K for FK491EP.
Power: AA batteries, USB charging or hardwired
In October 2026 the 30 product pages of Smedbo's US collection showed 15 mirrors with a USB-charged battery, 6 with AA batteries, 9 that name no light or power, and no hardwired model. Examples from Smedbo's lines:
| Model | Mounting; power |
|---|---|
| FK484EP | Free standing; 4 AA batteries |
| FK485EP | Wall; 4 AA batteries |
| FK487EP | Wall; USB rechargeable |
| FX625 | Suction cups; USB rechargeable |
| FB627 | Travel; USB rechargeable |
| FK487H | Wall; Hardwired |
| FK486H | Wall; Hardwired |
- Replaceable batteries: the FK484EP line says "Battery operated with 4 pcs. 1.5V AA batteries (not included)". Booklet X1711REVA lists FK473E, FK474E, FK484EP, FK484EBP, FK484EWP and FK485EP as running on four 1.5V AA batteries.
- USB charging: the FK487EP line says "Rechargeable battery, charge with USB." Booklet E60548700REVG prints an input of 5V, 1A for charging FK487EP/FK488EP and FK491EP/FK492EP, and says: "The mirror comes with an uncharged battery and it takes about 5 hours to fully charge."
- Hardwired: the FK487H and FK486H lines say "Hardwiring - See Technical Description." Smedbo's pages for both add: "Hardwiring - Built-in electrical connection, without visible cord. Professionals are required for installation." The FK487H section of booklet E60548700REVG states: "Electrical installations must be performed by an authorized electrician."
The letters after the number are not a reliable guide to the power type, and we found no key to them on the Smedbo pages and booklets we checked. FK484EP and FK487EP both end in EP, yet the first runs on AA batteries and the second on a USB-charged battery. Some lines, such as FK483EP, name no power type at all. Read the power words in the line, not the code.
FK487H and FK486H are on Smedbo's UK site, not in its US make-up mirror collection, and their lines give no supply voltage; please ask us before ordering a hardwired model. The FK485EP line also prints IP21, and both booklets ask that the mirror be placed "according to the requirements for bathroom and in the correct zone according to IP21".
