This page shows how to find the National Guard Products (NGP) cut sheet or installation instruction sheet for an NGP number, such as 320NA, 898 or 570, and what each document contains. It also lists the NGP documents we host and where NGP's current editions differ.
NGP cut sheet or installation instructions?
On the ngp.com product pages we opened, the documents are buttons such as Installation, Catalog, AutoCAD and Cut Sheet. The 320NA-36, 570 and 898S pages show all four; some, such as 572 and 9200C, have no AutoCAD file. A cut sheet describes the product, for example its profile drawing, material, finishes and options; an installation sheet gives NGP's numbered steps.
From the number in our title to the NGP document
- Take the NGP number from the product heading and leave out our length or size. On our NGP 320NA 36 automatic door bottom the part number NGP_320NA36 is the NGP number 320NA followed by the 36 inch size from the title; NGP's list shows it by length, as 320NA-36. Our NGP model number guide explains seal letters and finish suffixes.
- On ngp.com, open the product list: Auto Door Bottoms, Thresholds, Gasketing, Edges & Astragals, Lite Kits & Louvers, GapGuard (9200C) or Finger Guards (2252C). The Gasketing list also holds astragals such as the 136P, B606A (SET) and 9600A (SET); the 570 and 572 are under Edges & Astragals.
- Click the number; the document buttons are on its page.
- NGP's 9550 page is marked DISCONTINUED and has no Installation or Cut Sheet button. If your number shows that, call us before you choose a replacement.
How to read an NGP cut sheet
The ten current NGP cut sheets we opened all carry the words PRODUCT CUT SHEET, a project box and a document code. Here is what the 898 half saddle threshold cut sheet shows:
- Top left: 898, Half Saddle Threshold and PRODUCT CUT SHEET. Top right: a box with Project, Submitted By, Date and Notes lines.
- Material and features. For the 898: aluminum alloy 6063, 5 inches wide by 1/2 inch tall, .72 lbs. per foot, wood screws included.
- Seal and finish options. For the 898: vinyl bumper seal (V) standard, neoprene (N) or silicone (S) optional; mill, B (black anodized) or DKB (dark bronze) finish; optional slip resistant SIA finish.
- A profile drawing with dimensions in inches.
- Symbols at the bottom left and a document code at the bottom right, here NGP-THR-898-PCS-0626-A.
NGP's catalogs explain their rating symbols on a Rating Symbols Legend page: page G4 of the Gasketing & Automatic Door Bottoms catalog (NGP-CAT-GAS-0926-A) and page T3 of the Thresholds catalog (NGP-CAT-THR-0926-A), both on NGP's Catalogs page. The gasketing legend ends with "Online product listings: ul.com/database". Read a symbol only on the sheet for your exact number.
Older copies: check the edition
The NGP cut sheets we host for the 570, 572, 898, 896HD, 2252, 2525, 5075 and 9200 are older editions: the footer shows the file name and a 2015 copyright line (2016 on the 896HD) instead of a document code. Our 570 copy lists special door thicknesses of 1-3/8, 2 and 2-1/4 inches and a .030 inch lead lining option; the current 570 cut sheet (NGP-EDG-570-PCS-0724-A) lists special door thickness available from 1-3/8 to 2-1/4 inches and no lead lining. The 5075 changed more:
| 5075 | Our copy | Current sheet |
|---|---|---|
| Name | TPE Triple Fin Smoke Seal | Silicone Triple Fin Smoke Seal |
| Colors | 5075B, 5075CL | 5075C, 5075CL, 5075W |
| Supplied | 6 lengths, 36 to 108 in. | Rolls, 17 ft up to 300 ft |
The current sheet is the 5075 cut sheet (NGP-GKT-5075-PCS-0726-A). Where editions differ, go by the current NGP sheet.
What an NGP installation sheet contains
Nine of the eleven current installation sheets we opened name the NGP numbers they cover; the threshold and perimeter seal sheets name a product type instead. All give numbered steps, which we do not repeat here, and print a short code at the bottom, such as 8.25.
- 320 automatic door bottom (8.25): two narrow pages, 8 steps and a warning about adjusting the plunger.
- Aluminum or stainless steel threshold (8.25): 4 steps. NGP links this sheet from its 898S, 896HDN and 8136 pages.
- 136N, 136S, 136P mortise seal (5.26), 600, A605, B606, 672, 675 astragal seals (8.25) and vinyl, foam or polyurethane perimeter seals (2.26): 6, 10 and 5 steps.
- 570 and 570SS Z astragal (11.24): 4 steps and the note "This product was ordered and manufactured to the NET door height."
- L-GLF100 and L-GLF100-SP lite kits and L-GLF100-TB and L-GLF100-SP-TB thru-bolted kits (8.26): two pages each, with a door cutout and order size drawing, a glass, door and glazing tape table and notes for fire-rated doors. The two sheets give different exposed and cut glass sizes, so use the one for your exact kit.
The 320, 570 and astragal seal sheets also print: "See ngp.com for All Applicable Certifications for this Product." The self-adhesive 5075 and 9200 sheets add a storage and shelf life box for the adhesive.
NGP documents we host
- 570 and 572 cut sheets - square edge and beveled edge "Z" astragals (2015)
- 898 and 896HD cut sheets - half saddle and heavy duty thresholds (2015, 2016)
- 5075 cut sheet (2015) - see the table above
- 2252 cut sheet (2015) - two pages: the 2248 finger guard, then the 2252
- 9550 instruction sheet - titled 9550 Self Adhesive Fire & Smoke Seal, marked 2.15; discontinued by NGP
- L-GLF100-SP-TB instructions - English and Spanish, marked 10.14; the current 8.26 sheet lists different glass products and glazing tapes
If an NGP link no longer opens, look the number up on ngp.com.
Pages whose address ends in -instructions
Some of our NGP pages have an address ending in -instructions, such as our NGP 8136 36 page. On the pages we checked, these are product pages, not documents: the heading names the product, here the 8136 in 36 inches (part number NGP_813636), which NGP lists as a threshold assembly component. For the instructions, use NGP's page for the number.
