Richelieu Furniture Legs, Levelers and Casters: Heights, Mounting and Load Ratings

Richelieu Hardware lists furniture legs, table legs, cabinet levelers, glides and casters as separate product groups, and the dimensions and load figures it prints differ from group to group. This guide shows which figures to look for (height, adjustment, plate size, wheel diameter, stem, load rating) and where they appear on our pages.

How Richelieu groups legs, levelers and casters

Richelieu's site lists these products under headings that include Furniture Legs, Table Legs, Cabinet Levelers, Glides and Metal Levelers, and Casters. On our store, the 17 Richelieu product pages we read for this guide are all in one category: Furniture Legs, Casters and Levelers.

Adjustable and fixed furniture legs: height, plate and load capacity per leg

For a furniture leg, Richelieu prints fields such as Height, Adjustability, Leg Diameter or Leg Dimension, Base Diameter, Plate Dimension, Material and Load Capacity per Leg. Examples as printed:

Plate Dimension is 60 mm x 60 mm for 6425 and 80 mm x 60 mm for BORSA 642; for models 501, 502 and 503 the page says the mounting plate is welded on. The 205 table prints 200 kg up to 150 mm and 100 kg from 250 mm; at 200 mm both figures appear, depending on the product number. The fixed-height leg in the table is product 6494150140, described as a screw-in leg with "No plate required."

Not every item here is a complete leg: Richelieu lists 624210 and 625110 as Round Base for Furniture Leg under Furniture Leg Accessories - a base 26 or 32 mm high, with the Adjustable Furniture Leg - 38 and a mounting stem or mounting plate listed as required products.

Table legs: load capacity per leg or per pair

For Folding Table Legs (51490) Richelieu prints Load Capacity Per Leg: Max. 150 kg. For Legs for Structural Table (8040900 on our store) the page says "Sold by the pair" and prints Load Capacity per Pair: 200 kg; the heights 710, 870 and 1100 mm are labeled Dining, Counter and Bar.

Cabinet levelers and toe kick clips

For cabinet levelers Richelieu prints fields such as Height - Overall Dimensions, Adjustment Capacity and Load Rating. The Load Rating label does not say whether it is per leveler or per kit, so read the text around it:

• LVLR Legs: 100, 150 and 200 mm high, adjustment +30 mm, -16 mm, Load Rating 325, 305 and 285 kg in that order; the description says "up to 716 lbs (325 kg) per leg".
• Cabinet Levelers Kit LEGSOSET: listed as a bag of 4 units; the set also includes hollow screws, steel clips and screw-on bases. Height 100 mm, adjustment +50 mm, -5 mm, Load Rating 295 kg. The page does not say whether that is per leveler or for the kit, so ask us before you rely on it.
• Toe Kick Clip - 202: Richelieu says the clip snaps around the leg and holds the toe kick panel in place, and lists the Base for Clip 202 as a required product.

Glides and threaded levelers

For the Nylon Nail Glide, Richelieu lists Base Diameter (1/2, 5/8 or 3/4 in) and Pin Length (11/16 in). For the Round Leveler with Black Nylon Base it lists Threaded Stem (for example 5/16"-18), Stem Length and Load Rating. Two groups carry that name: the one that includes 5201211290 prints Load Rating: Max. 150 kg, the one that includes 5396111290 prints 60 kg.

Casters: swivel or fixed, brake, plate or stem, load per caster

For casters Richelieu prints Load Capacity Per Caster, Wheel Diameter, Total Height, Tread Width, Fastening Type and Mounting Type. On the pages we read, Fastening Type is Swivel Without Brake, Swivel with Brake, Swivel with Double-Lock Brake or Fixed, and Mounting Type is Plate, Threaded Stem, Friction Grip Stem, Wood Stem, U-Bracket or Panels.

For industrial casters, also open the datasheet linked on Richelieu's page: for the Blue Elastic Rubber series, the page table and the two datasheets linked from it show different load figures.

Finding these figures on our product pages

• The 17 page titles we read carry the Richelieu product number and a product name; 16 of them have no dimension (the LVLR leg title shows its adjustment range).
• The dimensions are in the Attributes list of each page we read, under Richelieu's labels such as Height, Adjustability, Plate Dimension, Load Capacity per Leg and Mounting Type. If a figure decides your purchase, confirm it on Richelieu's page for that product number, or ask us.
• Some values on our pages carry an asterisk, for example 110 lb* next to 50 kg. Richelieu's site marks converted measures this way and notes: "These are not the official measures."
• On the pages we read, Material and Finish are printed as names - for example Steel/Plastic and Nickel for leg 6425610195, ABS and Black for the LVLR legs. One product name covers several product numbers that differ by height and finish: on Richelieu's pages for the five leg models above, numbers ending in 140 are Chrome, 195 Nickel (Brushed Nickel in Richelieu's decorative hardware catalog), 170 Stainless Steel and 900 Matte Black.
