How to Read Santec Model Numbers, Handle Letters and Finish Codes

A Santec number such as 7196HO75-TM holds the model, the handle style, the finish and sometimes a -TM ending. This guide reads each part with the numbers and names printed on Santec's own product pages.

How to read a Santec number: 7196HO75-TM

We found no numbering key published by Santec. The parts below are a pattern visible in the examples on Santec's product pages (read in October 2026), not a rule: always check the product name and finish on the page.

• 7196 - the model. On Santec's Athena I page, 7196 is the TRIM (Shared Function) - 1/2" Thermostatic Trim with Volume Control and 2-Way Diverter.
• HO - the handle style. Santec's Athena I pages list HO style handles.
• 75 - the finish. Santec's finish swatches read Satin Nickel (75).
• -TM - an ending on Santec's trim numbers, for example 7196HO10-TM on its Athena I page.

On our pages the Part Number line adds STC_ and drops the hyphen (STC_7196HO75TM), and the description reads "Finish: Satin Nickel. Collection: ATHENA". Santec writes the collection as Athena I.

The four-digit model number

Santec's Athena I pages name the half-inch thermostatic trims as follows:

The Athena I 3/4 inch thermostatic trim is 7093HO-TM. In the nine collections where we checked the shared function trim with a 2-way diverter, it is 7196 every time and only the letters change: 7196HO, 7196BK, 7196GL, 7196CI, 7196VC, 7196KL, 7196LZ, 7196PF and 7196MD.

In the examples below, the last two digits stay the same for the same kind of product. The widespread lavatory sets we read end in 20: 3420HO (Athena I), 3920CK (Circ), 1020MP (Lyra), 5020VE (Evelyn) and 5520LT (Lattice). Roman tub filler trims we read end in 50: 3450HO-TM, 3950CK-TM and 9250ED-TM. Evelyn and Berkins share 5020 (5020VE, 5020BE), so there only the letters tell the collections apart.

Handle style letters by collection

Santec's feature lists call the letters the handle style (HO style handles, MD style handle). The letters on Santec's pages for its 11 collections:

Santec's Circ titles name the handle: CI Lever Handle, CX Cross Handle, CK Knurl Handle, CS Wheel Handle. Evelyn VC is the version "with Crystal Levers", and Lyra PF is listed as PF style cross handles.

Exceptions: shared items, spouts, accessories and showers

• Some items keep one number across collections: Santec shows the tub spout 5518LT on its Lattice and Evelyn pages and 2818ST on its Edo and Metra pages, so the letters do not always name the collection.
• Tub spouts and accessories can use other letters: ST (3418ST, Athena I tub spout), TH (4118TH, Lyra tub spout), SQ (2561SQ, Edo towel bar).
• The Athena I wall mount volume / diverter trim has no four-digit model: Santec lists it as HO10-TM, as our page does.
• Our Santec shower heads, rain heads and hand showers carry eight-digit numbers. On Santec's Athena I pages the hand shower with slide bar is 70847110 in Polished Chrome (10), 70847170 in Polished Nickel (70) and 70847175 in Satin Nickel (75), and the 8 inch round rain head with 7 inch ceiling arm is 70700710 in Polished Chrome and 70700775 in Satin Nickel. In these examples the last two digits follow the finish code.

Santec finish codes

Santec's finish swatches print these codes:

The finishes offered differ by collection and item. On the pages we read, Athena I and Klassica come in 10, 70, 75, 60 and 65; Circ, Evelyn and Berkins lavatory sets and trims, and Liza and Metra trims, in 10, 75, 91 and 21; Lattice in 10, 75 and 21; Lyra, Chadwick and Edo in 10 and 75. The Lattice page shows 5518LT in 10, 75 and 21 and the Evelyn page adds 91; the Berkins towel bar 5061BE shows 10 and 75 only.

Santec's page for the Metra pressure balanced trim 2431MD prints "This item NOT AVAILABLE in Satin Brass PVD Finish", although its finish list still includes Satin Brass (21). When a note and the list disagree, ask us before you order.

Trim, valve and the -TM ending

Each Santec shower and tub filler trim we read names a valve or rough that is not included. The 1/2 inch thermostatic trim pages say "Includes trim plate and handles" and name the valve, for example "USE TH-9212 VALVE (NOT INCLUDED)" for 7196HO-TM; the Roman tub filler trim 3450HO-TM names a rough: "USE P0006 ROUGH (NOT INCLUDED)". The valves we read, TH-9212 and SASTOP34, carry no handle letters or finish code.

In these examples -TM appears on items whose page names a valve or rough that is not included, including the wall mount widespread lavatory 3429HO-TM ("USE WM-0020 VALVE (NOT INCLUDED)"); the widespread set 3420HO, whose page lists 1/2 inch valves as included, has none. We found no Santec explanation of the letters. For the right valve, follow the trim's own page and Santec's instructions, or ask us.

Older Santec spec sheets use other numbers

The Santec Metra specification sheets (PDF, Rev. 5/16) and Chadwick specification sheets (PDF, Rev. 5/16) list the thermostatic trims as 7095, 7097 and 7099 (for example ITEM # 7095MD-TM) with TH-8000, TH-8200 and TH-8300 valves. Santec's current pages list 7195 to 7199 with TH-9010, TH-9212, TH-9210, TH-9313 and TH-9310 valves. Read a number with the document it comes from, and ask us if your trim number is 7095, 7097 or 7099.
