Selby Table Hardware: Extension Swivel, Lift-Top, Table Hinges

Selby Furniture Hardware lists extension swivels, a lift-top table mechanism, table hinges, folding leg fittings and table locks among its furniture hardware. This guide explains twelve Selby items on our store with the figures Selby prints on its product pages.

Selby table hardware at a glance

D1005Z extension swivel (our page: TV Swivel Plate)

Selby's page describes the D1005Z as "a double extension All-Steel ball bearing pullout with pivoted roller action full swivel". Our store lists it as the Selby D1005Z TV Swivel Plate; Selby's page names no particular use. Selby's figures:

• Length: 14 inches
• Width: 15-1/4 inches
• Height: 1-3/4 inches
• Extends: 13-1/2 inches
• Plate: 12-1/2 inches square
• "Rated Capacity: 110 lbs"

Selby's Extension Swivels collection shows seven pivoted roller and ball bearing models; the D1005Z is the only one whose name says double extension.

XTPE287 spring assisted lift-top table mechanism

In Selby's words, its Spring Assisted Lift-Top Table Mechanism "converts a coffee table into a work table, snack table or game table". Our store lists it as the Selby XTPE287 Black Single Pop-Up Table Hardware. From Selby's page:

• Mechanism: 24 inches long x 19-1/2 inches wide x 3-7/16 inches high
• Lifts table top: 8 inches
• Minimum size of top: 35 x 25 inches
• "Optimum weight of table top: 20 lbs."
• Unitized all-steel construction with a baked black epoxy finish

X7020005Z lift-up ratchet support

Selby suggests its Lift-Up Ratchet Support "wherever a tilt-lift is needed" and names beds, sofas and drafting tables. Lift it to the angle you want and it locks in place; lift it again to release it and it folds down. Selby's details for the Selby X7020005Z Lift-Up Ratchet Tabletop Support:

• 10-position positive locking
• Maximum operating arc: 112 degrees
• 8-1/2 inches long with a 7-7/8 inch rotating arm
• Heavy steel with an anti-rust finish
• Sold in pairs

Table hinges: restaurant, flip-top and butler tray

H899P restaurant table hinge

Selby's Restaurant Table Hinge turns a square table into a round one: the hinges are used on the four sides of the square. It can also be used on the ends of a rectangular table to lengthen it. According to Selby's page:

• the extension flaps fold flat under the table top and open 180 degrees;
• it locks automatically open and closed, and a spring steel holdup clip holds up the leaves;
• it is made of heavy steel with a brass plated finish;
• it is "Sold as a set of 8 hinges with special deep thread wood cutting screws."

H116P flip-top table hinge

Selby's Flip-Top Table Hinges are solid brass, open 180 degrees and close flush. Selby lists narrow 2-3/4 x 1/2 inch, narrow 3 x 1/2 inch and wide 2-3/4 x 1-3/16 inch sizes in polished brass, with chrome in the wide size; H116P is the brass wide version. H3640RDP butler tray hinge

Selby describes its Butler Tray Hinges as a reproduction of English butler tray hinges that lock open in the flat position and hold vertical at 90 degrees. They are solid brass with a satin finish, with round or square ends. H3640RDP has round ends and is 3 inches long x 1-1/2 inches wide.

Folding leg fittings and the folding shelf bracket

Selby calls its Folding Leg Fitting (S149L) "The old card table hinge" and suggests it for folding tables for gatherings and for long extension tables that need additional support legs. It folds the leg up underneath when not in use, and a spring-activated trigger release locks it in both the open and closed positions. Selby says it accommodates a 1-1/2 inch square leg without cutting or shaping and lists it as steel, bronze plated and unhanded.

The Heavy-Duty Folding Leg Fitting (H65800L) also has a spring-activated trigger release that locks in both the open and closed positions. Selby's page says it "has no limit on the size of leg". For its Folding Shelf Bracket (SC783W), Selby's page states: "Each pair of folding shelf brackets for fold-down work surfaces support up to 110 lbs." They lock automatically open and closed, with a quick release. Selby's figures:

• 4-7/8 inches high x 1-1/2 inches wide
• Projection in closed position: 1-5/16 inches
• Projection in open position: 12 inches
• Steel with a white powder coated finish
• Sold individually (the rating above is per pair)

Table top evener and table locks

Selby's Table Top Evener (XTLV1Z) is heavy 16 gauge ribbed steel "to keep divided table tops on an even level", 1-1/2 inches long x 3/4 inch wide. Selby's Table Locks collection includes:

• Tension Lever Latch / Table Lock (X244Z): for joining table tops of light to medium thickness. The latch is 3-1/4 inches long x 7/8 inch wide, and the lock and strike are bronze plated steel.
• Heavy-Duty Table/Sash Latch (X599P): for medium and heavy table tops and window sashes, with spring-assisted reciprocal locking action, brass plated steel, screws included. Selby gives the lock as 2-5/16 inches long x 11/16 inch tall x 1-15/16 inches deep. On our store: Selby X599P Brass Plated Sash Lock with Screws.
