An Arrow Lock number such as MK11-TA-26D-300-114-KD-AR is read left to right: series and function, trim design, finish, strike, latch and keying. This guide decodes Arrow locks, deadbolts, exit devices and closers with the Arrow Lock Price Book (effective February 2, 2026, revised 07/13/2026) and Arrow catalogs, so you can match an Arrow number to the right page in our catalog.
Who makes Arrow locks and cylinders
Arrow Lock & Door Hardware is based in Berlin, Connecticut, and its website describes Arrow as an ASSA ABLOY brand. Arrow's catalogs are in its online document library.
How to read an Arrow cylindrical lock number
The price book builds an MK Series knob lock number in this order (How to Order, MK Series pages):
| Code | Part | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| MK11 | Series and function | MK Series, entrance/office |
| TA | Trim design | Tudor knob (BD ball, DD Darrin) |
| 26D | Finish | Satin chromium plated |
| 300 | Strike | T-strike, 1-1/8 x 2-3/4 inch |
| 114 | Latch | Dead latch, 2-3/4 inch backset |
| KD-AR | Keying | Keyed different, AR keyway |
The lever series use the same order with their own latch numbers: RL11-SR-26D-R62-R71-KD-AR, QL81-SR-26D-306-Q71-ARKD, MLX81-SR-26D-306-R21-ARKD and RLX81-SR-26D-306-R21-ARKD. In the RL catalog, SR is the Sierra lever and BRR the Broadway lever. On our product pages the number may be shorter: our MK11-TA-26D-CS is an entrance/office Tudor knob lock in satin chrome with a Schlage C keyway, and our RLX87SR26D-CS a classroom lever, also satin chrome and Schlage C, with the 2-3/4 inch backset in the title.
Arrow lock functions: the number depends on the series
The function number depends on the series. From the price book function tables:
| Function | MK, RK, RL, HK | QL, MLX, RLX |
|---|---|---|
| Passage | 01 | 01 |
| Privacy | 02 | 72 |
| Entrance | 11 | 81 |
| Storeroom | 12 | 82 |
| Classroom | 17 | 87 |
In the price book, QL, MLX and RLX levers are freewheeling as standard, and the QL and MLX tables also list rigid lever versions of privacy, entrance, storeroom and classroom as 02, 11, 12 and 17. Our catalog also has RLX locks numbered 02, 11, 12 and 17, such as the RLX12BRR26D-IC storeroom lever, which the 2026 RLX table does not list: read the function name in the product title. In the BMX mortise series, 11 is the apartment function, 20 entrance and 22 office. What each function does is explained in our lock functions guide.
Arrow finish codes
The finish table in the price book pairs Arrow codes with BHMA codes and, where they exist, US codes:
| Arrow | BHMA (US) | Finish |
|---|---|---|
| 03 | 605 (US3) | Bright brass |
| 04 | 606 (US4) | Satin brass |
| 10B | 613 (US10B) | Dark oxidized satin bronze, oil rubbed (interior use only) |
| 10BE | 613E (US10BE) | Dark oxidized satin bronze, equivalent |
| 26 | 625 (US26) | Bright chromium plated |
| 26D | 626 (US26D) | Satin chromium plated |
| 32D | 630 (US32D) | Satin stainless steel |
| AL | 689 | Aluminum, painted or powder coated |
| BSP | none | Black suede powder coated |
Some series use the BHMA number itself as the Arrow code: HK (605, 613E, 630), DBX (605, 613E, 630, 693), BMX (605, 606, 613E, 626) and the DCN300 and DCN500 closers (689, 690, 693). QL, MLX, RLX, RK and RL write the dark bronze as 613E, where MK, D and E write 10BE. So 26D and 626 can both mean satin chrome, and 613E is a different code from 613 (10B): go by the code, not the color name. Our finish codes chart explains the BHMA numbers.
Arrow key blanks and keyways
The Available Keyways table in the price book has two rows: Arrow A, written AR in model numbers, and Schlage C, written CS. AR is the standard and CS the option in the MK, RK, RL, QL, MLX, RLX, HK, D and E Series tables. The RL catalog also offers Arrow sectional keyways, for which the price book says to consult the factory.
- Key blanks in the "A" keyway: K5A (standard bow, 5-pin), K6A (standard bow, 6-pin) and L6A (large bow, 6-pin). The price book names K5A as the standard keyblank for MK and RK and K6A for RL. Example: our L6A key blank.
- Cylinder options: IC = prepared for a 6- or 7-pin SFIC, less core; LC = less cylinder; KA4 = keyed alike in four; SIC = prepared for a Schlage LFIC (QL, MLX); LIC = prepared for a Medeco 320201 or ASSA LFIC (QL). For SIC and LIC the cylinder is not included. Example: our QL81-SR-26D-SIC.

Deadbolts, mortise locks, exit devices and closers
Arrow E and D Series deadbolts
E61-26D-346-141-KD-AR is an E Series cylinder x thumbturn deadbolt in satin chrome, with the 346 strike (1-1/8 x 2-3/4 inch, metal jambs) and the 141 bolt (2-3/8 inch backset). E62 is double cylinder, E63 cylinder x blank plate and E64 cylinder x thumbturn (classroom); the D Series uses the same digits. DBX numbers are shorter: DBX61-630-CS-KA4 is a cylinder x thumbturn DBX in satin stainless, CS keyway, keyed alike in four. Example: our E61 26 IC (bright chrome, prepared for an SFIC core).
Arrow mortise locks
BMX11-XL-626-460-RH-KD-AR puts the hand (RH) after the strike (460, straight lip); the price book describes BMX locks as handed and field reversible. It lists the AM and BM series under Discontinued Products, where BM19 is dormitory and BM11 apartment. Example: our BM19 HSL 26D. Hands are explained in our door handing chart.
Arrow S1250, S1150 and ED910 exit devices
S1250 is the rim device and S1150 the surface vertical rod device. Finishes are AL, BRZ and LBZ, a 24 or 48 suffix orders the device for narrower or wider doors, and CD adds cylinder dogging. An F prefix (FS1250, FS1150) marks the fire-rated versions; a trailing F, as in S1250F, does not. The ED910 rim device is ordered as ED910-36 (31 to 36 inch doors) or ED910-48 (43 to 48 inch). Example: our S1250-AL-48. See also our exit device types guide.
Arrow DCN door closers
DCN314 is a size 1-4, non-hold-open tri-pack closer and DCN314-1 the hold-open version. In the DCN500 series, DCN516 (sizes 1-6) is non-hold-open and DCN516-1 hold-open; DCN516-2 and DCN516-3 add a heavy duty parallel arm with a positive stop, and DCN516-3 a thumbturn hold-open. Example: our DCN314 689 (aluminum).
