Blum TANDEM and MOVENTO Runners: Drawer Preparation, Runner Length, Locking Devices and Instructions (563H, 563F)

This page shows where to find Blum's instructions for TANDEM plus BLUMOTION (563H, 563F), TANDEM edge BLUMOTION and MOVENTO runners, and which runner length, locking device and bracket Blum lists for a drawer. It is based on Blum's current brochures: TANDEM plus BLUMOTION ((c) 2025) and MOVENTO (LIT.MOV1000.03.26, (c) 2026).

Blum 563F and 563H instructions: where to look

Blum's TANDEM plus BLUMOTION brochure (PDF) covers the 563., 563H, 563F and TANDEM edge BLUMOTION runners and their accessories:

If your runners came in a Blum retail kit, Blum's runner assembly instructions page says: "Match the number on your package/product purchase (e.g., R001) to the instruction sheet below." R001 is the 18 inch and R002 the 21 inch TANDEM plus BLUMOTION kit; the kit sheet carries the warning "WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD -- Small parts. Not for children under 3 years."

Which runner fits your drawer side: 5/8 or 3/4 inch

Blum's general specifications (page 8) list the H and . (dot) series for drawers up to 5/8 inch side material thickness and the F series for drawers up to 3/4 inch. The runner pages give these ranges:

The 563. runner is for frameless or blocked-out face frame cabinets; Blum notes that rear brackets and sockets cannot be used with it (MOVENTO: the same for 763. and 769.).

In our product titles, 5/8 Mat and 3/4 Mat give this drawer material thickness, Full Ext and 7/8 Ext the extension, and Edge means TANDEM edge BLUMOTION; if a title and Blum's tables disagree, follow Blum's tables. Blum's overview (page 6) prints "100/90 lb*" for TANDEM plus BLUMOTION and "100/75 lb*" for TANDEM edge BLUMOTION as static/dynamic capacity, with the footnote "*Per ANSI/BHMA A156.9 Grade 1 standards on a 21" length drawer box". The 100lb in our TANDEM titles matches the static figure, the 75lb in our Edge titles the dynamic one.

Runner length and cabinet depth

From page 6: "TANDEM series runners are based on the American standard 3" cabinet depth system, therefore runner lengths are in 3" increments." The 563H table on page 14:

The 563F table on page 16 has the same lengths with F in place of H; 563F5330B, for example, is listed for a 21 inch drawer length and a 24 inch overall cabinet depth. Pages 15 and 17 add the minimum and maximum inside cabinet depth (with rear attachment) for each runner. MOVENTO uses the same 3 inch system (MOVENTO brochure, page 6).

What Blum's drawer preparation pages show

Page 11 shows the rear notch (minimum 35 mm, 1-3/8"), the 6 mm holes in the drawer back for the runner's rear hooks and the pilot holes for the locking device screws, and recommends the T65.1600.01 concealed runner template. The drawer box specifications on pages 15 (563H) and 17 (563F) give the inside drawer width, the maximum drawer height and a deduction table by drawer side thickness, with Blum's 563H example: "For 21" opening width and a 5/8" thick drawer, 21" minus 13/32" = 20-19/32" drawer width". The MOVENTO equivalents are on pages 11 and 13 of its brochure; its minimum rear notch is 50 mm (1-15/16").

TANDEM and MOVENTO locking devices

Each locking device below is listed with "One right and one left required per drawer":

Blum calls T51.1901.PS "Ideal for inset applications and any SERVO-DRIVE application" (inset drawers: pages 18-19). T51.1901 and T51.7601 need a minimum inside drawer width of 170 mm (6-11/16"). The narrow devices T51.0801.20 and T51.0501.20 list a minimum inside drawer width of 95 mm (3-3/4"; for MOVENTO, without TIP-ON BLUMOTION) and "Maximum dynamic load capacity 25 lb".

Rear brackets, lateral stabilizer and Pull-Out Shelf Lock

• Rear mounting bracket 295.3750.03, two per drawer: "For use when installing TANDEM runners in face frame cabinets. Not necessary for frameless cabinet installation." Page 30 lists it for TANDEM 554 and 563 H/F runners, but not for 563 series 9" runners; for those, page 31 lists screw-on sockets 295.3700.21 and 295.3700.22 for face frame cabinets.
• Lateral stabilizer set ZST.686TU01 (page 22): synchronizes the left and right runners to prevent drawer racking and "Does not increase load capacity". Blum calls it optional, recommended when the drawer is more than twice as wide as it is long. The MOVENTO set is ZS7M686MU (MOVENTO brochure, page 26).
• Pull-Out Shelf Lock (pages 24-25): 295H5700 for frameless and blocked-out face frame cabinets, 295H5750 for face frame cabinets, "For TANDEM 563 H/. and all MOVENTO runners", not designed for TANDEM plus BLUMOTION 9" runners. Blum lists the synchronization rod ZST.1089W separately from the set, and the lock "can be released with one hand thanks to the synchronization rod".
