C.R. Laurence (CRL) publishes separate installation documents for its glass door rails, patch fittings, Blumcraft panic handles and Jackson overhead concealed closers. This page links the official PDFs, says what each contains and shows which one goes with the number in our product title.

CRL door rail instructions: Wedge-Lock, Low Profile, Slender
- 4, 6 or 10 inch door rail (DR4S, DR4T, DR6S, DR10S, CDR4S numbers, such as our DR4TSA12SL): on the five CRL pages we checked, the installation document is the Wedge-Lock sheet. Page 1 covers door rail mounting and the Kwik-Adjust Pivot Alignment System; page 2 covers cylinder and thumbturn mounting and options (DRA10, DRA20, DRA22, DRA30) and the fittings to use with an overhead concealed closer, a floor closer or free-swinging pivots.
- Low profile (DR2S, DR2T numbers, such as our DR2SDU38PL): the three CRL pages we checked carry both the Low Profile and the Wedge-Lock sheet. The Low Profile sheet adds the pivot inserts (1NT701, 1NT703, 1NT704), adjusting the reveal between door and fixed panel or jamb, and its own cylinder and thumbturn numbers (DRA50, DRA60, DRA62).
- Slender (SP64, SP35 numbers, such as our SP64PS12SR): an assembly sheet with a component drawing, eight steps and the cam lock glass cut out, marked "NOT FOR USE ON LAMINATED GLASS".
CRL patch fitting templates and instructions
To the door patch fittings and patch locks we checked, CRL attaches templates, and installation instructions only to the adjustable PH20C. The PH20 PH10 template is headed Cat. No. PH20A, PH20B, PH10C, PH10D, PH10E; the PH21A PH21B PH11C PH11D template is the European door patch. The AMR205 patch lock (our AMR205BS) has two: door corner and door jamb mounting.
The PH20C instructions (our PH20CBS) open with an Important Guidelines box and the glass preparation drawing; pages 2-4 show steps 1 to 13. One "DO NOT USE WITH" note in the box names European 2-9/16 inch (65 mm) pivot setback overhead concealed door closers, which it says require the European fitting PH21C; the other reads "Laminated Glass".
CRL attaches no instructions to the PHA2 patch door kit page (our PHA2BS); its kit contents include the PH20C top patch and the PH10C bottom patch.
Blumcraft panic handle installation instructions: PA100, PA110
CRL names these manuals after the series and exterior handle letter: a PA100F handle uses the PA100F Series manual. On the CRL pages we checked, a manual was attached to PA100 styles A, C, F, H, JS, Y, Z and PA110 styles A, C, F, Z, but not to PA100 styles B, D, FS, G, J, L, LS, M, MS, X or the DPA100 Designer Series. A PA100D Series manual is on CRL's BP100D3AKBS page; ask CRL or us about the rest.
The PA100F manual:
- Pages 2-8: door fabrication - parts list, tools, removing the handle from its packaging, rail mount and glass mount installation.
- Pages 9-15: door installation - header preparation for adjustable door stops with manual strike, bolt adjustment and, from page 13, the optional electric strike.
- Pages 16-22: care and cleaning, maintenance, replacing the lock cylinder.
In the PA110A and PA110C manuals the door installation section covers the threshold ramp strike. All three covers list "Actuator Post Alignment and Nylon Bushing Selection", but only the linked PA110A file has those pages (9-10).
Reading a Blumcraft panic handle number
The manuals print no code key, but CRL's product titles spell the codes out. A selection, from the twelve CRL titles we compared (including our PA100F4LKBS and PA110A4GKBS); other prefixes and letters exist:

Jackson overhead concealed closer installation instructions
CRL's 27-page Jackson document, 11M0193, covers the closer bodies and the standard packages. Page 2 states: "All Jackson OHC's are non-handed, double-acting, and work with center hung and offset applications."
Its contents page puts center pivot doors on pages 4-12 (instructions and adjustments on page 5), the charts of top arm assemblies, closers and pivots on pages 13-15, and butt hinge and offset pivot doors on pages 16-25.
Reading a Jackson closer number
Among others, the page 14 chart lists 20101M bodies with the 1/2 inch standard spindle and 20104M bodies with the 7/8 inch extended spindle. In each row, the endings are the Regular, Heavy and Adjustable spring bodies:

So our 20101M04, titled Medium Duty, is the Regular spring, 90 degree hold-open body on the chart. On the eight CRL package pages we checked, 21101 numbers are center hung packages and 21201 numbers offset slide-arm packages, each ending in the same two digits as the body it includes. CRL lists our 21101S01 as including 20101M01, 20219, 20400B and 20902; pages 13 and 15 list 20400B (Type "S" side load top arm) and 20902 (Type "G" floor mount pivot set).
CRL also attaches a one-page adjustment sheet (AVDB3028) to the thirteen body and package pages we checked; on the three offset slide-arm package pages it is the only installation document. The Jackson 1000 Series (our J1090NH0) has its own instructions. See also our guide to door closer types.
