The panic device on an aluminum storefront door says Jackson, and part of it has worn out: a rod, a latch, a dogging pin, the crossbar. Which part fits depends on the model. C.R. Laurence (CRL) links instructions, templates or parts lists on the product pages of four of the five Jackson models below.
Which Jackson exit device is on the door?
Start with the type. Rods running up and down the face of the door mean a surface vertical rod (SVR) device. A door that latches at the top and bottom with no rods in sight has a concealed vertical rod (CVR) device. A rim device latches at one point, into a strike on the frame or a mullion. Our exit device types guide explains all three. CRL sorts the Jackson models like this:
| Model and CRL type | Files on the CRL page |
|---|---|
| 1095, 1095P: rim | Instructions, template |
| 1085, 1085P: concealed vertical rod | Instructions, parts list |
| 2086: concealed vertical rod | Instructions |
| 1275: surface vertical rod | Instructions, parts list |
| 1285 Electrified: concealed vertical rod | None on the page we read |
The P marks the paddle version. CRL covers the 1095 and 1095P in one instruction document and the 1085 and 1085P in another, each with a separate template page for the paddle. The 2086 and 1275 have a push pad instead. Electrified exit devices in general are covered in our electrified door hardware guide.
Jackson 1095 rim device: instructions and template
CRL's page for item 311095RS4313 links two files. The Jackson 1095-1095P installation instructions show the parts on page 3, the template layouts for the crossbar and the paddle on pages 5 and 6, and the dogging pin options on page 11: the standard 301115 pin or the optional 301117 thumbturn pin. Pages 12 and 13 are the packaged parts, crossbar version first. They include body and arm assemblies in RHRB and LHRB versions, the 30851 body hardware package and 30733PKG, a 48 inch crossbar with screws. For keyed entry the device needs a rim cylinder; the instructions name DL911SCKDA for aluminum and DL911SCKDDU for dark bronze.
The 1095 Panic Exit Device Template file is four drawing sheets. Two are installation guides with the C strike, one for center hung narrow stile doors and one for offset pivot or butt hinge doors. The third covers routing a wood door for the support plates. The last sheet shows the S strike, named in titles such as 311095RS4313, on an offset pivot door. Three sheets call for template 10-484 on the active stile and 10-475 on the inactive stile.
Jackson 1085 parts list
The 1085 is the concealed rod device of CRL's 10 Series. Its 1085-1085P installation instructions give the template layouts on pages 6 to 8: crossbar with a lock cylinder and mounting pad, crossbar with a lock cylinder and exterior trim, paddle alone. The packaged parts are on pages 21 (crossbar) and 22 (paddle). CRL also posts each page as a separate file: the crossbar parts list on its 30915J page and the paddle parts list on its 1085 paddle page.
Most numbers appear on both lists: the 30915J rod and case assembly (7/0), 30916 rod and case hardware package, 301409 body hardware package, 30934 top and 30320 bottom bolt guide assemblies, 301084 strike package and the 301115 and 301117 dogging pins. The body differs. The crossbar list has the 30982 and 30983 body and arm assemblies plus the 30733PKG crossbar; the paddle list has the 30984 and 30985 body and paddle assemblies. For keyed entry, the 1085 page calls for a mortise cylinder and the 30821J mounting pad.
Jackson 2086 CVR exit device: instructions and parts page
The 2086 page carries one document, the Jackson 2086 installation instructions. Parts identification is on pages 3 and 4, the stile layouts on pages 6 to 9 (the drawings refer to the template in the box) and the packaged parts on page 18.
Page 18 lists the active head assembly by hand (302617 LHRB, 302619 RHRB), the 302480PKG push-pad package, the 30763P top and bottom bolts and the same 30915J rod and case assembly as the 1085. CRL's 30915J page names both models and offers the part for repairing existing 1085 and 2086 devices. On the 2086 page, CRL calls the device handed, not reversible, lists the 301347 (12 inch) and 301348 (24 inch) top rod extenders for doors over 84 inches, and offers the Jackson 8500LV outside lever trim for keyed access.
Jackson 1275 surface vertical rod: packaged parts list
The 1275 page links the 1275 installation instructions and the 1275 Packaged Parts List, which is page 18 of the instructions on its own. CRL lists the 1275 as non handed, in 36 and 48 inch widths, with standard door heights of 84 and 96 inches, field sizeable. The upper rod and top rod cover come in 7, 8 and 9 foot sizes. A selection from the list:
| CRL number | Parts list description |
|---|---|
| 3028477, 3028478, 3028479 | Upper rod and latch, 7, 8 and 9 ft |
| 3028527, 3028528, 3028529 | Top rod cover, 7/0, 8/0 and 9/0 |
| 302854 | Bottom rod and latch |
| 302856 | Bottom rod cover |
| 302113 | Upper and bottom strike package |
| 302674, 30267448 | Ribbed base cover plate, 3/0 and 4/0 |
For outside trim, CRL lists the 7500LV lever: its 7500LV02313 page says the trim is designed for the 1275 only and takes a DRA10 series keyed mortise cylinder, and it links a one-page 7500LV instruction sheet.
Read the CRL title before you order
CRL's titles spell out details to match, such as the hand (Right Hand Reverse Bevel), the width (36 or 48 inch), the strike on the 1095 and, for the 2086, the door size (Fits 3/0 x 7/0 Door). Check the hand on your door with our door handing chart. On the six CRL pages we read that offer two finishes, the dark bronze number ends in 313 and the aluminum one in 628, for example 311095RS4313 and 311095RS4628. Our CRL finish code guide covers other endings.
