Salice Mounting Plates: Which Plate Goes With Your Salice Hinge

Our Salice hinge pages such as C2R6A99 say "Mounting plates sold separately". This guide shows how Salice matches plates to hinges, how to read our plate titles, and which hinges Salice lists for each cover cap, spacer and opening limiter.

Sources: Salice Concealed hinges for the cabinet and furniture industries (D0CASAA03USA, Ed 16 - 11/2024, "hinge catalogue" below), Silentia+ Euro and Face Frame Hinges (D0CASAA29USA, Ed 06 - 01/2025) and the Domi snap-on and Face Frame mounting plate pages on salice.com. Overlay, crank and plate terms are explained in our concealed hinge guide; to identify an old hinge, see identifying a replacement hinge.

Which Salice mounting plate fits your hinge

Salice's page for the Series 200 110 degree hinges, such as our C2R6A99 and C2P6P99, says "Compatible with all traditional Series 200 mounting plates and with all Domi snap-on mounting plates." The Silentia+ catalogue prints a matching line for the 100 Series 105 degree hinges such as our C1P6AE9 (pages 12-13). The Domi plate page on salice.com gives the reverse lists:

  • Straight plates (BAP): "For hinges Series 100, 200, 400, F, M, Universal Hinges and Silentia+."
  • Cruciform plates with 2 cams (BAR): "For hinges Series 100, 200, 400, N, M, Universal Hinges and Silentia+."
  • Cruciform plates with 1 cam (BAV): "For hinges Series 100, 200, 400, F, M, universal hinges and Silentia+."

The Face Frame mounting plates page prints no hinge series list; it marks BAU3L and BAU3R "Based on using full overlay hinges." For BAL3R59 the hinge catalogue (page 46) lists half overlay (G crank) and 1/2" overlay (D crank, with adjustment) hinges and recommends a #6 x 5/8" truss head screw.

Domi snap-on or traditional plates

Page 10 of the hinge catalogue shows both assemblies: a traditional Series 200 plate holds the hinge with its fixing screw; on a Domi plate the hinge hooks on and snaps into place. Traditional plates adjust by loosening screws; Domi BAR and BAP plates have cams for height (+/-2 mm) and depth (-0.5 to +2.8 mm), adjusted "without loosening any screws" (pages 7-8); for the 1 cam BAV plates salice.com lists depth adjustment by cam. Our Salice plates are Domi plates (BAP, BAR, BAV) and face frame plates (BAU, BAL, BAM, BA03), which Salice also lists as snap on (Silentia+ pages 64-65).

Plate shape, drilling and material

A selection from Salice's tables (hinge catalogue pages 40-46, Silentia+ pages 60-64) for our plate families:

PlatesDrilling (mm)Material
BAP3R, BAPGR straight21+32Die-cast zamak
BAR3R, BARGR, BAR4R cruciform37x32Die-cast zamak
BAV3M, BAVGM, BAV4M cruciform37x32Steel

BAU3R face frame10x48Die-cast zamak
BAL3R59 inset face frame7x32Die-cast zamak
BAM3R09, BA03R59 face frame10x45Die-cast zamak

Our titles say "Cast Steel" on plates such as BAP3R09 and BAR3R29; Salice's tables call them die-cast (zamak).

Salice mounting plate height and overlay

Salice's rule (hinge catalogue page 5): "Overlay = (constant + drilling distance) - plate height." For the 100/200 series, the "A" crank (full overlay) gives D = (15 + K) - H and the "G" crank (half overlay) D = (6 + K) - H, where D is the overlay, H the plate height and K the boring distance from the edge of the door (pages 4-6). The F series full overlay hinge uses 19 instead of 15. The overlay tables on pages 34-35 use the 100/200 series constants; Silentia+ prints a formula with each hinge (for example page 13).

Column headings of the Domi tables, "Based on using full overlay hinges" (hinge catalogue pages 40-44, Silentia+ pages 60-63):

HeightColumn heading
0 mmSide panel 3/4", full overlay
2 mmSide panel 3/4", 11/16" overlay
3 mmSide panel 5/8", full overlay
6 mm1/2" overlay, partial overlay
9 mmSide panel 3/4", half overlay
12 mmSide panel 5/8", half overlay
18 mmInset
21, 24, 27, 30 mmInset face frame application

For BAU face frame plates, 1 mm is printed as 3/4" overlay and 6 mm as 1/2"; for 4 mm the hinge catalogue (page 45) prints 1/2" and Silentia+ (page 64) 5/8". For inset doors on face frame cabinets, pages 47-49 pair the recess from side to frame edge with a BAR plate for a P crank inset hinge, for example 1/4" with a 9 mm plate and 1/2" with 18 mm (drawings with K = 4 mm).

Height, cams, fixing and finish in our titles

  • Height: the mm figure after the number, as in BAR3R29 2mm. Confirm it in Salice's table.
  • Wood screw: Salice's "Screw-in" plates; our titles say Screw-On, Screw or Wood Screw, as on BAP3R09.
  • Euro screw pre-mounted: BARGR, BAPGR and BAVGM. Salice writes these numbers with /16, which our addresses drop: BARGR09/16 is BARGR0916.
  • Expansion dowels 5 mm: BAR4R and BAV4M; our titles say Expando, as on BAR4R29/16.
  • Cams: 2-Cam on BAR and BAU3R plates such as BAU3R19; Cam or 1-Cam on BAV and BAU3L plates such as BAV3M09F. FF means face frame.
  • Finish: TI marks titanium; Silentia+ page 63 lists titanium plates such as BAR3R26 and BARGR26/16.

Salice cover caps, spacer and opening limiters

  • S2BX83H6, steel screw cover cap, titanium (S2BX83H9 is nickel): salice.com "For Series 100, 200, 700, F, M, 400 and universal hinges"; Silentia+ page 70 "For 100, 200, 700 and N Series hinges".
  • S2XX85H6, steel flange cover cap, titanium: salice.com "For all Series 100, 200, 300, 700, 800 and 900"; Silentia+ page 71 "For all 100, 200, 700 Series."
  • S2XX86KT: Silentia+ page 71 (spacers for Silentia+ hinges) lists S2XX86 to reduce the drilling depth for 94, 105 and 110 degree hinges: 0.6 mm (BT), 1.2 mm (AT) and 1.8 mm (KT). Our address reads 18mm: the decimal point is lost.
  • S2A637XF: hinge catalogue page 57, for all hinges with 94 degree opening and 35 mm cup only, limits opening to 86 degrees; Silentia+ page 73, "For all 200 Series hinges", about 86 degrees; salice.com, stop device on the Series 200 110 degree hinge page.
  • S1E637XY: Silentia+ page 73, for all 100 and 700 Series hinges, about 86 degrees.
  • SUP337XGXG: Silentia+ page 72 lists SUP337XG, with one XG, as an "Angle reduction clip for Silentia+ face frame hinges", for all overlays, limiting opening to 86 degrees.
  • SEL637X3: Air hinge catalogue (D0CASAA15USACDN, Ed 07 - 07/2023, page 11), "Restrictor to reduce opening angle to 92 deg."
