How to Read Salice Part Numbers: Hinges, Plates, Futura, Progressa and Wind

Salice numbers such as C2R6A99, CSP3799XR, A7555/457 or G5U6S533XXF6 pack the series, door position, fixing, finish or length into one string. This guide reads them the way Salice prints them, to help you match a number to the right item.

Salice hinge numbers, character by character

Salice's Series 200 110 degree page lists C2R6A99 as "Dowel, Nickel finish" under "Full overlay / A crank - 0 mm"; our title C2R6A99 110 Full Overlay A-Crank Self-Closing Dowel uses the words of that page. From the left:

• C2 - the series. In the lists we read, C1 is Series 100, C2 Series 200, C7 Series 700, CM Series M, CN Series N, CS the S series and CU Series CU (no printed key).
• R - the fixing. For its Series 100, 200 and 700 hinges the Silentia+ catalogue says: "Fill the third position of the hinge code number with the letter or the number corresponding to your choice." The choices are P wood screw, R dowel, 7 Rapido and J Logica. Series N differs: CNA7A99 is wood screw, CNB7A99 dowel.
• 6 - no printed key; the hinge catalogue lists each number under an opening (below).
• A - the crank: A full overlay (crank 0 mm), D 1/2" overlay (crank 5 mm), G half overlay (crank 9 mm), P inset (crank 17 mm).
• 99 - no printed key; every hinge number on the Series 200 110 and 120 degree pages ends in 99 and is listed as Nickel finish.

On the Salice pages we read that list both finishes, the nickel number has 9 where the titanium number has 6: C1P6AE9 and C1P6AE6 (Silentia+ Series 100), CNA7A99 and CNA7A66 (Series N), CSP3799XR and CSP3796XR (Excenthree), S2BX83H9 and S2BX83H6 (cover caps). TI in our titles means titanium. Our Series 200 numbers with 66 in place of 99, such as C2R6A66, are not in the part number index of Salice's current USA hinge catalogue, so for them we can only go by our title.

Series names, openings and door thickness

As printed on each Salice page:

For the Series M hinges CMP3A99 and CMR3A99 the hinge catalogue (p.28) lists an "Integrated stay close feature" (StayCl in our CMP3A99 title) and states: "They are certified for applications in public environments in conformity with FIRA Level 5 and ANSI Grade 1 requirements."

Face frame hinges: the overlay is in the number

The S series face frame hinges, Excentra (2 cam adjustment) and Excenthree (3 cam adjustment), list their numbers by overlay. On the Excenthree page the fifth character changes: CS_379_XR is 1/2", CS_369_XR 9/16", CS_359_XR 5/8", CS_349_XR 3/4", CS_329_NR 1" and CS_3A9_NR 1-1/4". The Excentra list uses the same characters without the XR or R ending (CSP3799 for 1/2", CSP3299N for 1"). Series CU Silentia Excenthree uses them too: CU_37D_R is 1/2", CU_3CD_R 1-3/8".

So our CSP3799XR 106FF 1/2" OL 3-Cam Self-Closing Screw-On is the Excenthree hinge for a 1/2" overlay, wood screw fixing, nickel; the titanium version is CSP3796XR.

Mounting plates

In the Domi snap-on plate table (hinge catalogue p.43) the columns for 0, 2, 3, 6, 9, 12 and 18 mm plates hold BAR3R09, BAR3R29, BAR3R39, BAR3R69, BAR3R99, BAR3RC9 and BAR3RV9. Salice lists these plates as die-cast zamak; our titles say Cast Steel.

Futura and Progressa drawer slide numbers

Futura (ordering chart, p.11): A, the article, a slash and a length in mm that the chart calls runner length (229, 305, 381, 457 or 533). A755 is self-closing, A7555 has the Smove oil damper for 5/8" drawer material, A7557 is push and A7955 has the oil damper for 3/4" drawer material. Salice lists A7555/457 CP6 for a 457 mm (18") drawer, and the A7555 page gives "Load capacity: 100 lbs static/75 lbs dynamic"; the chart does not explain CP6.

Progressa (part number composition, p.12): G; 5 Progressa or 7 Progressa+; U; 6 for 13 mm (1/2") to 16 mm (5/8") or 9 for 16 mm (5/8") to 19 mm (3/4") drawer material; S soft close or P push to open; the drawer length in mm; X standard face frame cabinet member or C short cabinet member; XF; and 6 (6 pairs, 229 to 533 mm) or 2 (2 pairs, 610 to 762 mm). So G5U6S533XXF6 is a soft-close Progressa, 1/2" to 5/8" drawer material, 533 mm (21") drawer. Salice's web pages describe X versions as "Face frame assembly with socket." and both X and C versions as "Blocked out face frame cabinets or frameless."; our Progressa+ titles shorten this to Socket and Block Out. HD in our Progressa+ titles and F70 in some of our clip and socket titles do not appear in Salice's Progressa catalogue.

Wind lift system kit numbers

Wind kits (catalogue p.16) are FRAKFEX_SN9 for soft close and FRAKFEP_SN9 for push opening. The blank is the spring package letter - S, F, I, D or W - read from Salice's charts by door height and door weight (p.18-20). Covers are SRXA78A_SNXXF, the blank being the cover finish (p.14), such as 1 white. Our FRAKFEXISN9 (soft close, spring package I) is titled Self-Closing Yellow, and our D kits are also titled Yellow; Salice names the spring package by its letter, so order by the letter.
