The lock on the door says Yale, and the old order or hardware schedule reads something like AUR8807FL x RH x 626. That line holds the lever, function, hand and finish. Here is how to read it, and the numbers on cylindrical locks, deadbolts, exit devices and nexTouch keypad locks.
Yale Commercial is now ASSA ABLOY ACCENTRA
The manufacturer's Our History page says ASSA ABLOY began rebranding the Yale Commercial portfolio as ASSA ABLOY ACCENTRA on June 20, 2023, with the same people supporting the same products, part numbers and programs. The old yalecommercial.com address now opens the ACCENTRA website. So the number on an older Yale order is still the one to look up.
On our site most of the line is on the ASSA ABLOY ACCENTRA brand page. Cards that still carry the Yale name, and Yale smart locks such as Assure, are on the Yale brand page.
Design, function, hand and finish
The price book's ordering tips ask for the design, the finish and, on mortise locks and exit devices, the hand. Its examples hand mortise locks RH or LH and exit devices RHR or LHR. Finishes use BHMA codes such as 626 satin chrome plated, 630 satin stainless steel and 613E dark oxidized satin bronze equivalent; our finish codes chart compares them across brands.
8800FL mortise lock numbers
The price book's own example is AUR8807FL x 2196 x RH x 626:
- AU is the Augusta lever and R the Copenhagen rose. With the Camden escutcheon the letters become AUCN.
- 8807FL is the series and function, here entrance. FL goes with lever trim; knob versions are listed without it.
- 2196 is a 6-pin large format interchangeable core cylinder; x LC orders the lock less cylinder (see our SFIC vs LFIC guide).
- RH is the hand, 626 the finish.
| Code | 8800FL lever |
|---|---|
| AU | Augusta |
| CR | Carmel |
| MO | Monroe |
| PB | Pacific Beach |
| AR, JN | Arcadia, Jefferson |
| PN, VI | Pinehurst, Virginia |
| HA | Hampton |
The price book's 8800FL table also lists 8801FL passage, 8802FL privacy, 8805FL storeroom or closet, 8808FL classroom and 8840FL storeroom with deadbolt; our lock functions guide explains them. For a repair, the lock body alone is LBDY8807FL (armor front and strike included, no trim or cylinder), and a trim pack reads AUR x TP8801 x 626. ACCENTRA's 8800 Series page calls the handing field reversible, but the price book still asks for the hand.
Cylindrical locks: 5400LN, 4700LN, 4600LN
AU5407LN is a 5400LN Series entry lock with the Augusta lever. The price book lists the 5400LN and 4700LN as Grade 1 and the 4600LN as Grade 2. In all three tables 01 is passage or closet, 02 privacy, 05 storeroom or closet, 07 entry and 08 classroom.
- x LC: less cylinder. On the 5400LN and 4700LN only: x ICLC, prepared for a 6-pin large format core, less core; x 1210, with that core.
- B- before the lever letters: small format core prep, as in B-AU5407LN.
- 5490LN (fail safe) and 5491LN (fail secure): electrified 5400LN locks with cylinder override, ordered with the voltage, 12V or 24V. See our fail safe vs fail secure guide.
D100 and D200 deadbolt numbers
The price book lists the D100 as Grade 1 and the D200 as Grade 2. In both tables the last digit is the backset, 1 for 2-3/8 inch and 2 for 2-3/4 inch, and the digit before it the function, such as 1 cylinder x thumbturn, 2 cylinder x cylinder, 4 blank plate x thumbturn and 6 cylinder x classroom thumbturn. So D162 is a Grade 1 cylinder by classroom thumbturn deadbolt, 2-3/4 inch backset (our deadbolt types guide covers the terms). Auxiliary rim locks carry short numbers: 197 is the jimmy-proof deadlock, 112 the heavy-duty deadbolt, with F added for doors opening outward.
Exit device numbers: 7000 and 6000 Series
Both order charts build four digits. The first is the series. The second is 1 for a standard device on stiles 4-1/2 inches or wider, 2 for narrow stile doors or narrow escutcheon trim. The fourth is 0, or 5 for cylinder dogging, not combined with F. The third is the device type, from the 7000 chart (see our exit device types guide):
| Third digit | Device |
|---|---|
| 0 | Rim |
| 1 | SVR up to 8 ft |
| 2 | CVR, metal doors up to 8 ft |
| 3 | Mortise |
| 5 | SquareBolt rim security |
| 6 | CVR over 8 ft, wood door or LBR |
| 7 | SVR over 8 ft or LBR |
After the digits come suffixes such as F (fire exit device), the size, the height for vertical rods, the trim design and model, the finish and the hand. So 7100 36 630 is the panic rated rim device for 30 to 36 inch doors in 630; the 6000 Series adds ED, as in 6100ED. Watch the size codes: 48 covers 36 to 48 inch doors in the 7000 chart and 42 to 48 in the 6000 chart.
Devices and trims are priced separately. Trim numbers include 546F (key-in-lever rose trim, classroom) and 626F (lever and escutcheon trim, classroom or storeroom). Our product names put the lever letters in front, as in AU626F630-LC-RHR. In the 7000 Series section only the 540F rose trims include a standard cylinder, and the 626 finish is listed for trims only, not for the device.
nexTouch keypad lock numbers
NTB is the bored (cylindrical) lock, NTM the sectional mortise lock and NTT the exit trim. The digits set the keypad and key override:
| Code | Keypad | Key override |
|---|---|---|
| 613 | Pushbutton | Yes |
| 623 | Touchscreen | Yes |
| 633 | Pushbutton | No |
| 643 | Touchscreen | No |
Mortise models add 618, 628, 638 and 648 with a thumbturn. The exit trim is listed only as NTT613 and NTT623. In the catalog's example AU NTB613 NR 626, NR means keypad only, no radio.
Where to find the installation instructions
Product pages on accentra-assaabloy.com, such as the 8800 Series page, list Documents (the catalog and, for the 8800, a parts manual) and Technical Documents, split into Installation Instructions and Templates and searchable by document number. The Resource Library also holds the price book.
How our product names show the number
Our names put the number after the brand, often run together: AUR8807FL626 is the Augusta entrance mortise lock in 626. On the cards we checked, the Part Number repeats it without spaces or dashes after AAC_, or YAL_ on Yale cards.
Have the full number from the old order or the schedule ready when you get in touch. Our customer support team is available Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 4 PM Central Time, at 1-888-800-7789 or [email protected].
