CRL Glass Door Pull Handles: Back-to-Back, Ladder, Offset and Shower Pulls, Washer and Stud Kits

A pull on a glass door has worked loose, a washer has gone missing, or a second door needs a matching pull. Each case starts with the C.R. Laurence (CRL) series and size of the old pull. Below are CRL's pulls for all-glass entrance and frameless shower doors, what CRL's sheets list with them, and the washer and stud kits sold as replacement parts.

CRL pull handles for glass doors: straight CM and offset CD

Three of CRL's door hardware sheets cover its glass mounted straight and offset pulls: the CM back-to-back straight pull (CM10X10 to CM24X24 sheet), the CD 1 inch diameter offset pull (CD10X10 to CD18X18 sheet) and the CD12X28 back-to-back offset push and pull set. On each drawing, B runs between the two mounting holes and C over the whole pull. CRL's product pages call these mounting center to center and overall length.

In these items the number is the hole spacing, B. On all three sheets finish letters are added to the catalog number: BR polished brass, BS brushed stainless, PS polished stainless, SA satin anodized and DU dark bronze. Check the finish name as well: CRL's page for CD12X12DU calls DU Black Bronze Anodized, and CRL's pages for CM12X12BS, CD12X12DU and 36LP1BS also offer Matte Black, which the sheets do not list. What comes with the pull: glass door or wood and aluminum door

Every sheet has a Mounting Options table with a column for glass and one for wood or aluminum doors. Its cells, with the hole size from the same sheet, read:

CM straight pulls and CD offset pulls

• Glass 3/8"-3/4": hole size 5/8", Cat. No. F40WK, Included
• Wood/Aluminum up to 1-3/4": hole size 5/16", Cat. No. TB4CH, Optional

CD12X28 push and pull set

• Glass 3/8"-3/4": hole size 5/8", 2 ea. Cat. No. F40SK and 1 ea. Cat. No. F40WK, Included
• Wood/Aluminum up to 1-3/4": 1 ea. Cat. No. TB4CH and 2 ea. Cat. No. F41WK, Included

Under each table CRL prints this note: Optional hardware kits must be purchased separately. A drawing headed Mounting Template on each sheet shows where the holes go.

CRL ladder pull handles: lengths and two grades

The back-to-back ladder pull sheet lists 24LP to 84LP in 6 inch steps, in BS and PS. In every row, C is the number in front of LP and B is 12 inches less: 12 inches on the 24LP, 72 inches on the 84LP. Hole sizes and the glass column match the CM sheet. Its Mounting Options table names F40WK, Included, for glass, and TB4CH for wood or aluminum doors up to 1-3/4 inch, without the word Included.

CRL's ladder pull product information describes two grades with the same design, footprint and installation:

• Standard: 304 stainless steel, 1.5 mm wall, for interior openings in controlled environments such as offices, conference rooms and retail spaces.
• Performance: 316 marine-grade stainless steel, 3 mm wall, for exterior doors, high-humidity areas, coastal environments and public entries.

That sheet gives no item numbers for the grades. CRL's page for the 36LP1BS calls it a Standard ladder pull in 304 stainless, 24 inches center to center and 36 inches overall, so check the material line on CRL's page for your item. The ladder pull sheet puts the length before LP, while CRL's shower catalog starts its Ladder Series with LP (LP6X6 to LP48).

CRL shower door pulls

The Frameless Shower Door Hardware Catalog shows CRL's shower pulls on pages 53 and 54. When you replace one, check the series name for Washer and Single Sided.

• BM Series (BM6X6, BM8X8) and BM Series - No Washer (BMNW6X6, BMNW8X8)
• SQ Series (SQ6X6, SQ8X8)
• Solid Brass with Washer (SPH6, SPH8) and Solid Brass - No Washer (BPD6, BPD8)
• Solid Brass - Single Sided, with Washer (SSP6, SSP8) or No Washer (BPS6, BPS8)

Replacement washers and stud kits for CRL pulls

Page 55 of the shower catalog, Pull Handle Replacement Parts, lists these eleven parts. On CRL's product pages some of them carry a finish ending, as in BMSKCH or SQSKMBL.

On CRL's product pages, BMSK is the BM handle washer and stud set, 2 per set, 1-1/4 inch in diameter, while BMNWSK is the BMNW stud set, also 2 per set, at 3/4 inch. SQSK comes 2 per set for the SQ series, and 30WK holds 4 metal and 8 plastic washers for 3/4 inch diameter solid pulls.

For 1 inch single-sided and combination commercial pulls, CRL's pages describe two washer and stud kits. Each holds one 5/16"-18 threaded rod with a 1-1/4" end cap, one 1-1/4" metal washer and three plastic washers:

• F40SK: Good for 3/8" - 3/4" Thick Glass, per its CRL page
• F41SK: Works with 1-1/2" to 2" Thick Doors, per its CRL page

Before you order a CRL pull or kit

• Series, size and the B dimension.
• Glass, or a wood or aluminum door: the column of the Mounting Options table.
• Back-to-back or single-sided, with washers or without (BM or BMNW, SPH or BPD).
• Finish letters and finish name, and for a ladder pull the steel grade.
