Camden Door Controls publishes installation manuals for its electric strikes, magnetic locks, door holders, door alarms and power supplies. This page matches the model numbers in our product titles to Camden's documents and shows what the main manuals cover, plus Camden's templates and approval certificates.
How to find the right Camden manual
Camden's Product Manuals page groups the PDFs by product series, and a series manual can cover several models. Look for the series number in our title (CX-ED1079, CX-91S, CX-DA800); a -BK suffix marks Camden's black finish version. Some of our product addresses end in "instructions" or "guide". Those are product pages, not documents.

Two of our strike numbers are not in a manual title. Camden lists the CX-ED1379 on its CX-ED1309 and CX-ED1379 page, which links the CX-ED1309 Series manual. The CX-EPD-2020L is the ANSI round faceplate model on Camden's Series 20 Pre Load Electric Strikes page, which links the CX-EPD-2000L manual. Camden's Lockset Compatibility Chart lists locksets and rim exit devices by maker, in columns headed "CAMDEN STRIKE" and "FIRE-RATED OPTION".
What is in a Camden strike manual
In the CX-ED1079 Series manual, page 1 has the package contents, specifications and dimensions; page 2 the installation for a hollow metal frame and for an ANSI frame; page 3 the wire connections and the fail safe or fail secure setting; page 4 the faceplates. The CX-ED1689L and CX-ED1799L manuals add a keeper and latch gap adjustment, the CX-ED1959 manual a gate mounting option. See our fail safe vs fail secure guide.
The CX-EPD1289L rim strike manual shows how to mark the strike position from the exit device latch with the installation template (page 2), then covers wiring (page 4), the operating mode (page 5) and troubleshooting (page 6). The Strike Marking Template Manual covers the CX-STR-TMPKIT, a kit with five metal strike templates for the 1079L/2079, 1079DL/1410/1799L, 1309, 1689L and 1579L.
The CX-ED1079 manual notes that the products "are intended to be installed in accordance with the installation wiring diagram, mechanical assembly drawings provided with each product, the local authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) and the National Electric Code, NFPA 70", and the other CX-ED manuals carry a similar note. Fire ratings and approval certificates
The CX-ED1410 and ED1420 manual lists "90 minutes (UL verified)" and notes "Fire rating is applicable only while in FAIL SECURE mode." The CX-ED1579L manual lists "3 hours (Fail Secure Only)", and the CX-ED1689L, CX-ED1799L and CX-EPD1289L manuals "3 hrs. (Fail Secure Only)". On Camden's approvals page, "UL 10C & UL S104 Standards for Fire" includes the CX-ED1410, CX-ED1579L, CX-EPD1289L and CX-ED1689L. Whether an opening needs a fire rated strike is decided by Camden's instructions and the authority having jurisdiction.

The two CX-91S manuals have specifications and accessories on page 1, installation, wiring and troubleshooting on page 2, the regular installation guide with the template on page 3 and the LZ bracket for an in-swing door on page 4. Camden also lists CX-91S-06 and CX-91S-12 mounting templates. Camden's CX-90/91 page lists our CX-91M-06TLS "with adjustable timer, lock sensor/relay", while Camden's CX-91 Series spec sheet (R3) lists the 600 lbs. mortise TLS lock as CX-91M-TLS. The CX-91M-06 manual names only the CX-91M-06 and CX-91M-06TDS, so confirm the TLS wiring with Camden.
The CX-91S and CX-92S manuals state that the lock "must be installed in accordance with" the "Life Safety Code ANSI / NFPA 101", the "Local Authority having Jurisdiction" and the manufacturer's instructions.
Brackets and spacer plates
On Camden's CX-90/91 page the CX-91S-06 is a "600 lbs." lock and the CX-91S-12 a "1,200 lbs." lock. The Maglock Accessories spec sheet lists CX-MA0613 as the "L & Z Bracket for 600 lb. Magnetic Lock" and CX-MA1213 for the 1,200 lb. lock, with a D suffix for the double door version. The spacer manual covers the 1 inch CX-MA0614-25 and -25D (600 LB) and CX-MA1214-25 and -25D (1200 LB). The CX-MA0611 and CX-MA1211 kits for glass doors have their own manual.
CX-DE1200 delayed egress lock installation
The CX-DE1200 manual (Rev. 7, 9 pages) has specifications on page 1, the seven model configurations on page 2, wiring on page 3, mounting on pages 4-6, settings on pages 6-8 and accessory wiring on page 9. Its cover notice begins: "THIS PRODUCT MUST BE CONNECTED INTO A FIRE ALARM SYSTEM PER NFPA CODE OR OTHER REGULATIONS SO THAT, IN THE EVENT OF FIRE, THE TIME DELAY WILL BE BYPASSED. CONTACT YOUR LOCAL CODE AUTHORITY TO VERIFY COMPLIANCE WITH FIRE AND BUILDING CODES." For Detex delayed egress, see our Detex V40 and ECL-230 guide.
Magnetic door holder and door alarm manuals
- CX-95S-DH: the door holder manual covers surface and flush mounting and wiring; the extension bars manual covers the 3 inch and 7 inch bars. See also our door stops and holders guide.
- CX-DA400: the manual describes "prop/door held open and intrusion/door forced open detection".
- CX-DA800: Camden's Battery Powered Exit Alarm, which "activates when the door opens".
- CX-DA810: Camden's Battery Powered Door Prop Alarm, which alerts "when a door is held or propped open beyond a preset time". In both manuals the W model "is designed for outdoor use".
