Camden Door Controls offers several wireless door switch systems. This guide shows what to note on the old unit and which receiver Camden's spec sheets and manuals list for each transmitter, before you order a replacement or an extra switch.
What to note on the old unit
- The model numbers of the transmitter and the receiver, such as CM-TX-9, CM-TXLF-2, CM-RX-90, CM-SRX2 or CV-WRX4.
- For a CM-RX-90, whether it is the V2: Camden prints Kinetic compatibility for the CM-RX-90 V2, and the receiver drawings in its manual show the label RX-90 with "ver 2.0" beneath it.
- The relays or channels in use and the operating mode, and on a battery transmitter the battery type.
The RX-90v2, RX-91 and RX-92 manuals say the receiver is designed to mount inside the automatic door header. For the operator itself, see our automatic door operator manuals guide.
Camden wireless families and frequencies
Frequencies as printed in Camden's documents:
| Family | Frequency; example models |
|---|---|
| Lazerpoint RF | 915 MHz spread spectrum; CM-TX-9, CM-TX99, CM-TXLF, CM-336 |
| Kinetic | 900 MHz, no battery; CM-45K, CM-46K |
| CM-SR | 868.35 MHz, rolling code; CM-SRX2, CV-WTX2 |
| CV-WR | 868.35 MHz, rolling code; CV-WRX4, CV-WTX2 |
| CV-TXM2 | 433.92 MHz; CV-TXM-2 |
Which receiver Camden lists for each transmitter
- CM-TX-9 wall switch transmitter: the TX-9 manual names the CM-RX-91 and CM-RX-92, and the RX-90v2 manual enrolls "a TX-9 transmitter".
- CM-TXLF-1, -2 and -4 key fobs (and the recessed button -1LP and -2LP): the TXLF manual describes learning into an RX-91 or RX-92, and the RX-90v2 manual enrolls "a button on a Lazerpoint FOB". According to the TXLF manual, the buttons of a 2- or 4-button fob can be learned into different receivers, or into the two channels of one RX-92.
- CM-TX99 plug-in transmitter: a plug-in board for CM-120i/W keypads and CM-331/332 touchless switches. Its manual names the CM-RX-91 and CM-RX-92; the RX-90v2 manual lists the CM-TX-99 among the Lazerpoint models and says the RX-90v2 can be paired with Lazerpoint transmitters.
- CM-336 battery touchless switch: the CM-336 manual (R1) says it "is for use with Camden CMRX90 V2, CM-RX91 or CM-RX92 Lazerpoint receivers". The spec sheet marks it "(receiver required)" and lists the CM-RX90 and CM-RX92 as optional receivers.
- Kinetic no-battery push plates such as the CM-45K and CM-46K: the Kinetic sheet lists the CM-RX-90 V2 as the compatible receiver. Camden calls it switch selectable between Lazerpoint and Kinetic; its manual sets the protocol with DIP switch 2 (ON = Kinetic, OFF = Lazerpoint). Camden's Kinetic series page notes: "Kinetic no-battery transmitters cannot be used with Lazerpoint RF spread spectrum wall switch, FOB, keypad or hands-free wireless transmitters." The Lazerpoint sheet also lists RX-91 and RX-92 V2 receivers with slots for Kinetic plug-in daughterboards (CM-RX-DBK).
- CV-WTX2 two-button fob: two come in the CM-SRFM2 kit with one CM-SRX2 receiver, and the CV-WRX4 manual says the "CV-WRX4 receiver is designed for use with Camden CV-WTX2 transmitters".
- Other CV-WR fobs (CV-WTX2-H26, CV-WTX2H-H26SE, CV-WTX4H-H26SE): listed on the CV-WR sheet with the CV-WRX4 receiver.
- CV-TXM-2 two-button transmitter: its manual prints 433.92 MHz and refers property managers to Camden document 40-82B262 for enrolling; it names no receiver.
The documents we used show no pairing between the 868 MHz, 433.92 MHz and Lazerpoint or Kinetic products.
Receiver outputs, modes and capacity
| Receiver | Outputs; transmitters |
|---|---|
| CM-RX-90 V2 | 1 SPDT relay, 3 modes; 40 |
| CM-RX-91 | 1 SPDT relay, 1 mode; 40 |
| CM-RX-92 | 2 SPDT relays, 6 modes; 40 |
| CM-SRX2 | 1 Form A and 1 Form B relay; 30 |
| CV-WRX4 | 4 channel Wiegand; Not printed |
The RX-90 V2 modes are delayed, no delay and latching. The RX-92 manual names six: dual independent outputs, switching network, two vestibule sequencing modes, latched mode A (access control) and latched mode B (freight door). The RX-90, RX-91 and RX-92 run on 12/24 V AC/DC.
On the CM-SRX2, relay 1 is momentary and relay 2 momentary or latching. Its manual labels relay 1 for door strikes and relay 2 for maglocks; relay 1's mode can only be changed at the factory. Fail safe and fail secure locking is explained in our electrified door hardware guide. The CV-WRX4 runs on 12 VDC and sends Wiegand 26 or Wiegand 37 data, with a facility code from 1 to 255 set by DIP switch.
The RX-90v2 manual warns: "Do not use the Kinetic/Lazerpoint RF system as a safety device!"
Batteries and lithium options
- CM-TX-9: two AAA alkaline batteries supplied; add L2 to the model number for AAA lithium batteries instead. CM-LP2 is listed as two AAA lithium battery packs.
- CM-RFL kits: suffix L3 for four AAA lithium batteries.
- CM-TXLF fobs: one CR2032 lithium battery, pre-installed according to the TXLF manual.
- CM-336: two AA alkaline batteries supplied; suffix -L1 for two AA lithium batteries instead. CM-LP1 is a two-AA lithium battery pack.
- CV-WTX2 and the other CV-WR fobs: 3 VDC, CR2032. CV-TXM-2: one 3 V lithium CR2032.
- Kinetic switches: no battery; the transmitter is powered by the energy of pressing the switch.
What the kits contain
Contents as Camden prints them, for a selection of our kits:
| Kit | Contents |
|---|---|
| CM-RFL454-SA | 2 CM-45/4 switches, 2 CM-43CB surface boxes, 2 CM-TX-9, 1 CM-RX-90 |
| CM-RFK45/4 | 2 CM-45K switches, 2 CM-43CBL boxes, 1 CM-RX90 |
